A couple more things done ahead of my trip - summer tires on, got my oil changed and car looked over to make sure everything is safe and solid, vacuumed the car to prep for my overnight trip at my sister’s in New Germany, and got a car wash to rinse away the rest of winter. She’s a shiny beaut!

Opened up the new sheets set I got from Costco a while ago. The packaging makes them smell like old cheese?? Ew and they’re definitely in the washer now.

My main complaint living so close to Waverley Road is the fucking motorcycles. When the sun is out on a weekend, it’s a never-ending roar/drone/blap. So much so that I can’t stand to have my windows open.

Booked an expedition that’s happening the day after my arrival on Haida Gwaii, and it involves being on another boat for roughly 4 total hours. Please please please let the ferry ride over there go easy on me or else I will have made a grave error in judgment 😅

The social media landscape is not great for kids, there’s no question about that. I’m not sure it’s good for any of us. But “no social media until you’re 16” does nothing to address the bigger problem of tech companies being actively harmful for profit.

My plan was to litter-pick today but it’s windy as heck which is very annoying when holding a plastic bag open for an hour. Instead I will shower my stink off and hit an indie bookstore on this #IndependentBookstoreDay

Made buckwheat pancakes for breakfast and had real maple syrup, which of course resulted in a blood sugar spike. So I put on a 2000s club bangers playlist and sweaty-danced for an hour and my sugars are back to normal 💃🏻

I think I need to start taking the Metformin at breakfast instead of supper…

Day 2 on Metformin and got my first low glucose alarm on my sensor. You know what that means - gummy bears!

Completely forgot to add the fresh garlic and ginger in the dish that just finished cooking and I am Upset.

It's so infuriating when something you enjoyed turns out to be AI. I want to be able to laugh at funny videos without hyperanalyzing them. I want to marvel at a nature photo without having to question whether the bird is real. I want to enjoy art with wonder, not suspicion, and yet, here we are.

Sectional is here and I love it! However the delivery guy’s cologne smelled exactly like my ex who ghosted me after 14 months and pretty much ruined me ever wanting to be in a relationship ever again, so I’m airing out my house.

Setting my alarm for tomorrow morning. I’ve had my eye on a sectional at Leon’s for like a year and it finally went on sale a few weeks ago and I took the plunge. It arrives tomorrow morning! Here’s hoping the delivery people will also move my old couch to the basement 🤞🏼

Busy day! Called Bell and got roaming coverage added to my plan for free, just in case I’m too close to a border. And was able to rebook a dermatologist appt until August when I’m back. Got the mail and my just-in-case passport arrived (only took 2 weeks!), and I ran some errands. I should eat!

After almost a full decade of good mornings (started with Twitter), I honestly think I’ve run out 😂
