The oversimplification of the world, driven by the clever people who need to have everything simplified for them, is the great dumbing of the human race and has had pretty much the exact opposite effect as was intended. Things are much less simple now than they used to be.

I went and tried #Twitch for the first time this week (as a viewer, not a streamer). There's a really friendly community of #writers there who stream themselves #writing, which is an inspiring display of confidence. Sometimes I draw the curtains so the birds can't see me type.

I have 14 days to finish #editing the 3rd draft of my novel about three sisters who go missing in the woods, one by one. A modern retelling of an ancient folktale, it is set in a remote peninsula of Scotland. It's a book for people who want their occult horror with a touch of literary influence. 📚💙

I missed a personal #writing deadline, to be done with an edit by the end of July. I am hereby amending that deadline to the end of August. This is my final written warning to myself. Fail to comply and we will have to prohibit beer consumption.
