Abortion Rights Update: we are in court fighting to preserve our right to reproductive freedom by asking the judge to rule Amendment 3, passed as HJR73, as unconstitutional and prevent it from appearing on a ballot or to give Missourians fair and accurate ballot language.

Breaking: A Jackson county judge issued a new preliminary injunction again blocking Missouri's abortion ban and several restrictions clearing the way for Planned Parenthood to provide procedural abortion care.

"The vote last November was historic, offering a fierce rebuke of Republican state lawmakers who had spent decades restricting access. The constitutional amendment overturned a near-total ban that was enacted in 2022 after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade."

Breaking: We filed a lawsuit against the SOS for certifying an intentionally misleading and inaccurate summary statement & fair ballot language for a measure that would overturn the recent voter-passed protections for reproductive freedom. The bill passed as HJR 73 but has been assigned Amendment 3.

Recognized as a federal holiday in 2021, Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when the Union army advanced in TX & OK declaring the last enslaved people there free. The 1865 declaration came 2 months after the end of the Civil War & more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Power rests with the people. Thousands of Missourians peacefully protested the government's abuse of power. Without any evidence to support his reasoning, Kehoe activated the National Guard. The order continues even as Kehoe visits France. Kehoe should rescind the order and apologize to Missourians.

In a direct assault on Missouri voters, politicians in Jefferson City passed House Joint Resolution 73 explicitly designed to overturn the right to reproductive freedom that Missourians secured through last year's ballot initiative and allow the state to reinstate an abortion ban.

Missourians voted for the fundamental right to reproductive freedom. Right now, the MO Senate is debating a bill that could end our new right, including access to abortion. We need to call our State Senators to demand that they protect our reproductive rights, not ban them – NO on HJR 73

Work requirements neither encourage employment nor create a healthy, stable workforce. They are nothing more than a not-so-subtle backdoor to cut Medicaid and deny individuals the health care they need.

Ultimately, the Trump administration cannot order ICE to silence anyone with political opinions they disagree with, which is exactly what the ACLU of Massachusetts, ACLU of Vermont, CLEAR, and the rest of Ms. Öztürk’s legal team are arguing in court.

Today, Governor Mike Kehoe signed SB22, clearing a path for state officials to try to roll back the will of the voters by restricting access to abortion and reproductive health care across the state.

In a FOIA request, filed in Feb with 40+ federal agencies, the ACLU asked for records that reveal whether DOGE has sought or obtained access to databases containing PII, financial records, health care data, or other sensitive government-held records of Americans.
