Poets in the *writingcommunity often decry trigger warnings: "they lessen the psychological effect of #poems!" I disagree. From a trauma-informed POV, consent *always* matters. #Poetry retains full emotional impact with a content warning. It's about #consent. Amazing example by @rsalazar.bsky.social

Potentially unpopular opinion: Decrying content warnings for #poetry books with highly sensitive themes means dismissing the value of consent. Thing is, a well-crafted #poem as #art will have its emotional impact regardless of whether you seek the reader's consent. Dismissing consent is empire.
