and then that same author, who wrote a book about hooking people onto your products for product people, wrote a follow up book about for consumers how to improve your attention and focus. The tech biz model isn't about fixing problems but creating problems you then have to pay them to fix.

I strongly disagree with "everything looks better with a bit of motion". Tasteful and subtle usage in a marketing context can be nice, but almost never in product design.
