Went on an outing with some friends today. Went to the lavender farm - for lunch and a long meandering drive back, stopping to look for a platypus or two. Didn’t find any, but had a wonderful day.

Felt like treating myself to a mini DIY spa session. Facial ✅ Eyelash tint ✅ Eyebrow tint ✅ Eyebrow tint colour was a shade darker than normal so I left it on for what I thought was a shorter and sensible amount of time. Now people in space can read my facial expressions.

I just found out that my lovely aunt passed away. She lived on the other side of the world from me so we would have phone calls and video chats. Then she suddenly went quiet and I wondered if I had upset her. Turns out she had alzheimers and couldn’t use a phone without help. Love you Aunty Jan 💜

Hmmm… I’m a bit concerned I may not be able to get a boot on next week. Not sure what I’ve done wrong, but my foot and ankle are swollen again (not in this pic - this was taken last night) 😬

Stacked it at work yesterday while crossing a road in front of a couple of cafes. I’m not sure if I feel humiliated or relieved that no one rushed to my aid. Luckily nothing broken but the doctor remarked on an “absence of a knee cap” - I think it may have shot up into my thigh on impact 🤣

I think it’s finally happening - I suspect I may be in the process of being adopted by my local magpie couple. This afternoon I came home from work and had to change quickly before heading off to my hair appointment. I heard chortling at the front door

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a whole year since I last saw this sweet little face. It’s been a difficult and strange adjustment and I hate it. Planned a long drive to my favourite spot today. Caught a chill instead. Miss you buddy 💜

Here they come! I had finished the rest of my walk and they saw me from across the lake where I had left them. Some random guy going for his morning constitutional called me Swan Lady 🤣

The swans left the house they were standing in front of, walked past the Chapter of Ducks, and were apparently following me. When I stopped by the lake to watch them pass and instead they gracefully glided up to me 🥰💜

I feel like I might have interrupted the AGM of the local Chapter of Ducks this morning. The swan couple were excluded from this meeting.

This morning’s walk was eventful. I saw two swan couples, one of which (my lovely swan couple near my home) seemed to follow me today🥰🥰🥰

A couple of times over the years when I’ve heard someone complain about the rain, I’ve heard the response “Yeah but the ducks are happy.” - as though that is the most important thing. Which, of course, it is. Also, I had a lovely catch up with the swan couple near me this morning (not these two)…

I actually managed a walk before work this morning. It’s been raining so much this year that my usual daily walks have become a bit of a rarity.

These two magpies are adorable - they come looking for me to get their cashews, and if they can’t find me they chortle to me at the door 🤣💜

This past weekend I visited a lavender farm. Though the lavender is not in bloom until December, it was a beautiful day out. I had lavender scones with jam and cream and bought a lavender plant. Fairy wrens were singing and flitting about 🥰

The tree that is currently launching a thousand bats at night, and a thousand birds by day. This is where the bat gang wars broke out the other night. No wonder there was chaos!

Back to work in a few hours (it’s after 1am) and I’m still awake. Nooooooo 😣

Happy Easter to those who celebrate

Sitting in my living room watching tv and I heard noises coming from near the front door that sound like high pitched voices. We’ve had some questionable behaviour in the neighbourhood recently so nervously I went to the front door to investigate.

I am home in my own bed, missing the little retreat that has been my home for the last week. It was a lovely week full of reading, relaxation, reflection, some sunrises, some beach walks, my pockets jangling with pretty shells that I found (though careful not take too many). It made me realise that
