Another 4 am day. Is this a habit!? I recently cut the pattern for simple bags in various shapes & sizes for my offering at a #selfdirectededucation #unschooling space. I cut out all the fabric this morning from used garments. #reuse #upcycle made a simple library tote from a vintage pillowcase.

Most days I'm not as productive but today started at 4 am and I'm still going. #slowliving #doingthenextrighthing I did a couple hours sorting through fabric and other things in my #atelier. Deep cleaned kitchen, including catching up on the hand washing. Started a batch of bread dough & sprouts.

I woke up this morning at 4 am. Tried an audiobook. Tried a meditation. I ended up deep cleaning my atelier. #thegreatlettinggo

This made social media worth it today. We need more of this in all our lives. Living this fully would have many people with less time to be in other people's business. This energy would shift us all out of fascism.

Week into my Great Letting Go. I've sorted thru & delivered several eco bags full of mostly children's books. They give books out to anyone that wants them & do literacy programs for young folks around Philly. This AM, my toy trunk. Downsized. My baby is almost 18 😂 #greatlettinggo #minimizing

This morning I wrestled with my 2 main #sewing machines. My overlocker needs threaded, so nothing major but my regular machine is creating thread nests! I adjusted the tension, rethreaded, cleaned the bobbin space, rethreaded the bobbin,+ a couple other things. Help? Brought middle to get wood.

I went on a #trolltrek with some friends & N17 in Burlington NJ. The troll called Big Rusty was commissioned by the county. Then other artists made troll inspired sculptures. There's 18 in total throughout this country in North Jersey. We had a good time. Plus I love #graffiti. #artcrawl is fun.

This is a great idea. I wonder if there is crowd sourcing. I'd help.

Making blueberry 🫐 pancakes 🥞 for some of my favorite humans. The fam has returned from Australia 🦘 N17 & #jrda #teamusa won the gold 🥇 and got to pet kangaroos. A22 spent beautiful long days carving on the beach & a few carving at skate parks. My partner was sick most of the time 😔

I've been spending a lot of time helping my daughter navigate misogyny and the patriarchy. Helping her remember her own worth in a system that undervalues the effort, energy, work and skill of girls. Helping her navigate targeted interactions. Holding light in a system that rewards male mediocrity.

I have been facilitating at a neighborhood SDE school, its is delightful. I love #selfdirectededucation. our family of #autodidacts practiced #unschooling & #projectbasedhomeschooling for decades. it's been such a pleasure to work with young people again (now that my spawn are adults).

The last 2 weeks have been working full time (plus a couple hustles) which equate to 15k+ steps daily (over 5 miles). Excruciating foot pain is wiping me out. Trying to figure out if it's tendonitis or plantar fasciitis or something else. #funtimes

I've been facilitating at a summer camp. It's awesome. I crash immediately after so I haven't been doing much work but I'm hoping my capacity grows 😆 Capitalism has me always behind.

One of my children and I did the no Kings protest today after ice hockey. My partner was already down there doing their first go at being a "legal observer". It was benign but fun. We meet some doggos. Ate fruit. Talked about signs. Enjoyed at the #Gritty iconography.

Couldn't sleep. Quietly worked in my atelier. It's next to rooms where humans that could sleep are sleeping. Got a wonderful amount of cutting done. Unfortunately that included my finger. I'm fine. It's just a flesh wound. #sewist #sewsky #fabricartist

I start full time work next week. Facilitator at a #SDE summer camp. It's where my youngest used to attend before choosing public school. I'm excited but with trepidation. I'm disabled. I have a dozen or so issues to navigate for safety. I did it last year. 3 weeks. This year doing 8. #ithinkican

Every dollar spent on repression is a dollar stolen from compassion. We were told there’s no money for healthcare, housing, or food—but there’s always funding for boots, bullets, and barricades. Priorities aren’t broken; they’re perfectly cruel by design.

Slowly getting these pants together. I'm bouncing back slowly, the epic medical appointment & getting everything back on track. #Chronicillness is challenging. It's disruptive. There's not a lot of support for people w/ LT disabilities. There's a lack of social network but I'm doing what I can.

Skirt #mend. I love it even though I sewed the top wrong. No one sees so I've not bothered. I cut out a pair of wide leg trousers from a thrifted bed sheet. The pockets etc, from vintage yellow pillow case. They make me happy together. #sewsky #thriftscore #memademay all year

Worshipped at the church of quad this morning, as we do almost every. I JR off skates. N17 was a beast. It was a fun scrimmage against some alumni.

Nothing like ice hockey practice (N17) on a hot muggy day. I'm enjoying the frigid air and watching drills. She's a beast. She works hard at her skills. She's consistently growing as a person and athlete.

Burned a new screen today with a new (to me emulsion). It turned out pretty good. I need to burn it slightly longer next time because it lost some of the thinnest lines. #culturalappropriation is a #spiritual wound. #mutualaid is for everyone. #oldpunk #queerartist #antifascist

All weekend long we've been at a #jrda #rollerderby tournament. Having so much fun watching all these youth skaters be amazing.

Youngest spawn wanted to practice hockey. Took her to the park. Eldest and I took a nice hike. It required a large snack afterwards.

I've been actively getting out and moving my #disabled body. I'm still doing #memademay but wearing stuff again. I'm also work out on taking photos of myself so I might just grab photos of my outfits before putting them on. Is that allowed?

Siyo onigalii! I took a walk in the local gorge with my eldest. I love our walks. We made a bunch of plans and figured some things out about upcoming vending opportunities. We were on a path we've taken many times before. I discovered someone me to me! An old horse fountain.
