A Nintendo Switch 2 summer

Asgard's Wrath 2 and Deadpool VR were two of the most high-profile VR games in recent years. If their studios have been shut down it really doesn't bode well for any other developers who are 'all in' on VR. Concerning times. (Also, 'Splosion Man deserved a comeback, I loved that)

New flat, new city, new job. 2026 is going to be filled with lots of 'new' things but my gaming resolution this year is going to be 'old' instead. While I'll still be playing new games as they launch (mainly from Nintendo), there are so many GOTY titles from previous years I haven't played yet.

The Metal Racket means that Metal Mario and Pink Gold Peach are probably here as transformations, and not unique characters. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a Gold Racket as well that does something similar. So yeah, I hope if we get updates that the last 3 (FGuy, DKJr, Sprixie) all get added.

I realised that with this roster, we've almost got every previous playable character back in the game (excluding all the generic humans). We are missing: Fly Guy, DK Jr., Sprixie Princess, Metal Mario and Pink Gold Peach The latter 2 could easily be costumes for Mario and Peach.

2025 was an odd year for me, filled with highs and lows. But I did finally take a step into the professional games industry which had been a long time coming. With my move to London in 2026, I have a very different year on the horizon.

I spent the afternoon reading through Shinobi Undercover and it's a lot better than I was expecting. I'd put it in a similar tier to Mission Yozakura Family, although this paces its comedy/romance/action much better. My main hope is that the supporting cast get some W's under their belt soon.

After reading this I'm now even more secure in my belief that Nintendo needs to redo the Metroid timeline entirely. It's so borked at this point. The timeline should go as follows: (check first comment as it was too many characters for this post. Sorry).

Viewfinder is a puzzle game that requires a new perspective on the world, although once you've got that perspective it won't be too challenging.
