A friend got me a gift card to a yarn shop online for my birthday last month. I just got yarn for a stockinette stitch wrap. It's bright green! Not a color I have in my wardrobe normally. Fingering weight yarn held double, so this should keep me busy for awhile. Good mind-clearing project, simple.

I don't know how people can play House Flipper. It's like DIY work - like real, hard work. Obviously you're not physically exerting yourself, but it's not *fun*...

Thank goodness I found that cheat engine for Powerwash Simulator cause that last 5% completion is a real bitch.

Powerwash Simulator is fun and all until you try to finish a level. Then you can't find the dirt to save your life, or can't reach it. Major flaw in the game.

Hat is finished! Noro Kureyon yarn 040 Ukiha, a variegated self-striping worsted weight wool yarn. $15/skein, used about $20 worth. For my skill level, this hat would be priced at $150.

Even *I* dropped stitches with metal needles. Beginners, please knit with plastic needles. Metal is too quick, and bamboo is too sticky and slow. Bamboo holds onto the yarn very easily, especially if the yarn has any bloom to it.

All I want is enough yarn to make a big ass shawl I can wear while going about the house. Which is a lot of yarn...

This is especially egregious because crocheted fabric does not drape well. There's a reason most fabric is knit instead of crochet.

Why did I knit like the devil was at my back? Well, abuse. I was dissociating from living with one of my main abusers by knitting all of the time. For years. As a side effect, I got good at it.
