Time to add two more rows to the count! I'd knitted off the straight needles and onto a set of circular needles, doing two rows already, before finding that I'd made mistakes on both of them. Had to tink both rows to fix it, but it's fixed and I can keep going! 1/2

So, the right sides are the furthest away from each other, with the front being a mere 29 stitches, and the back being a massive 35 stitches. While the left side is closer to even, with the front at 32 stitches and the back at 33. 1/2

The number of times I've had to tink an entire row because I'd done two of the same stitch side-by-side is very annoying. But the results will be worth it! Still curious how large a blanket this 1kg ball of yarn is going to make, though... #knitting #knittedblanket

Okay, not *quite* the stitch pattern I was aiming for, but it's turning out well enough that I'm not going to fiddle with it anymore. I have a pile of yarn sitting on the cardigan in front of me, and a piece of paper I've been recording the stitch counts from each row I've pulled out beside me. Seven pairs of rows removed, and the numbers still aren't converging. They never matched from the start. Fuck. =>.<=

One other thing I just realized. The Star Trek: Lower Decks Combadges are pretty plain and boring, mostly because the really need to be, but they're just about the same shape as the Discovery:season 1 badges. And I already have one of those, so I can use that while I buy or build an LD one. 1/2

Well, fuck. Guess I was tempting fate a bit too much, as it appears that I've been a bit too unbalanced on the right shoulder of the cardigan. The two sides of the back match nicely, but not the two front sides. There's a sloped gap! =>.<= Pictures coming later, once I get home to edit them. 1/2

Some names currently under consideration for this scarf: "Rolling Green" "On the Moors" "Emerald Isle" "Wrapsody in Green" (best for a wrap, not a scarf!) and "Woodland Stripes" They all have some good points, but some sound too much fun for something as simple as this. =^.^=

I went to Sunday's library and made a tiny bit more progress, but enough to indicate that I am, in fact, on the right track! Not only that, but I am SO CLOSE (like, 1 pair of rows!) to switching to the collar! Tuesday night, I'd better take the appropriately-sized afghan hook in preparation! =^.^=

Well, not as much progress as I'd wanted, but it's still a good representation of where I'm going with it. Still need a good name for this one. Well, I just couldn't stand the idea of having one wider stripe that changed shades partway through. So I split the cake in half (by weight, unfortunately) and will have separate stripes. As has always been the plan since my Stormy Sunset scarf turned out so superbly well, I've started pulling this scarf out. It's just a touch too wide, and the arrangement of the colours is very boring. So I'll be coming up with some arrangement similar to the red scarf. 1/3

I really don't think about the future enough. So I've started writing a wishlist of larger power tools that I'd like to have at some point: ● Belt sander ● Band saw ● Milling machine ● Mini lathe It's an incomplete list, and in decreasing order of "soonness". A guy can dream, right?

No pictures tonight, because I may need to undo what I've done tonight. I'd tried to decrease faster again than before, and I'm not sure I've done it properly this time. Stitches aren't quite lining up "correctly", and it seems that I'd missed a step on one of the shoulders. 1/2

If I do actually use this stuff, I think I'd like to try dyeing it. Some nice, dark shade of either grey or blue. Though if I can figure out how to soften it up (maybe trying to turn it into superwash wool?), I'd be all over that.

After scouring far too many line slope calculators online (even Wolfram Alpha failed me), I opened Blender to find that the 27° angles on the slopes are close enough to one-over-two, so I've started sketching this mounting plate on graph paper. It's coming along WAY faster than with Blender! 1/2

Well, I've pulled out Blender again. Mostly to see how far I can get on the design for the mounting plate, on the side of "attempting to design it 'properly'". It may not need to be *this* precise, but it'll be interesting to see what the results are for the moment. 1/2

This really makes a lot of sense. Especially when you've tried using wireless headphones to make phone calls, and have to face a wall just to make sure your voice bounces back to the tiny microphone hole on the side of one of the speaker modules! =>.<=

Huh. If I want to be able to use the new lamp to be able to see what I'm doing on THIS project, I'd better start figuring it out faster. Otherwise, I just MIGHT finish the cardigan first! =^.~= I'll need to cut some sheet metal into a useful shape to mount the LED panel. An interesting challenge.

Given that I'll be using the dimmer from my previous lamp until I figure out how to handle dimming, this location seems pretty handy for the moment! And since it has screw terminals, I don't need to solder it down for the moment. Perfect for temporary work! 1/3

I'd managed to get the original 120V lamp cord out of the lamp's arm (turns out, you need to remove some screws to do that), and remove the head for convenience while I figure out how to attach things into the head. Pictured is the LED board I'm currently planning to use. Might change, though. 1/3
