The ABC reported (go.unimelb.edu.au/wyr2) that 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟯𝟯.𝟰% 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁. This means 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 people are spending >30% of their income on housing costs. For lower-income households, spending just 𝟯𝟬% on housing costs can = housing affordability stress.

Today is Extreme Heat Awareness Day. If you're a renter, it probably would be pretty hard not to be aware of the extreme heat you've been put through over the last few weeks. Research shows that renters' homes tend to be less energy-efficient.
