It’s been a while since I’ve found so many books that I’m truly psyched to read. I often neglect adult fiction, so I can have time to read more YA novels, allowing me to make recommendations and encourage reading among my students. It’s good to find time for my own reading again.

My son challenged me to see who could come up with the best Pokémon soccer team. I let him choose first and he didn’t even take Cinderace or Hitmonlee off the board. SMH.

A kid-free date night after a week of our kitchen being torn up while dealing with water damage (no flooring, giant fans and air scrubbers, a plastic wall sealing it all of), is just the thing to get a mind right.

Day 6,423: I’m still unboxing and assembling the kids’ Christmas gifts. I now have enough cardboard to build a small fortress and enough understanding of hot wheels track construction to qualify me for an honorary engineering degree.
