I did this - laughed out loud - when I got to the harmonica solo in “Been Around” by A Girl Called Eddy. January 2020. As in ‘oh this is shameless! This is amazing! She’s putting everything in here. I am going to love this record.” And the record did not disappoint me.

This is my default Sunday morning 11am record lately.

Consciously refrained from over-playing this at the time. I loved it so much. And that worked: it still feels a little mysterious even though I know every bit of it.

I love this song! Learned to play it once, kinda; should try that again.

This song is all about the bridge!! Perfect lush 20 seconds in the middle that makes the rest of it so plainly stark and brutal.

Flying to Portland with a ticket to see Suzanne Vega tomorrow night #CDFriday

One of the few records of its era I did NOT buy at the end of the 90s. Felt impenetrable at the time and I’m glad I waited because I didn’t have to re-learn it as an adult. Heard it fresh a decade ago and I love it so much. Just had it on this week too.

As a teenager who loved Tracy Thorn on ‘Protection’ in 1999 I did not understand this at all. Now I get it though.

Fantastic record. Maybe Tokyo Joe hasn’t aged very well. But there are great songs on here.

I love this. Often on my mind. Never heard the original and I don’t really want to. Perfect ambiguity - does he mean it, or is it a send up? That he didn’t write it makes it even better. Am I giving Bryan Ferry too much credit? Maybe. But I want to believe.

Can’t believe this big corny tune has held up so well. I love it so much and I’ve been listening to it for most of my life. It’s good!!!

#CDFriday finally bought all the MBV remastered CDs last weekend. Got the EP set Saturday, and clerk said it was worth it to get them all. When I listened to the EPs I concurred and went back Sunday for the others. They sound great.
