Just a couple of photos from my axe propmaking workshops I did for Holiday Matsuri and Rose City Comic Con. I love teaching project-based classes! Turning a 1-day build into a teachable 2-hour build is a good challenge. These are super fun and students learn a lot about working with foam and tools!

I’m diving back into my industrial design background to make cool packaging for my upcoming workshops. Labor intensive? Yes. Fun for me? Also yes.

~MAKING OF LIARA~ Some WIPs of how I made my Liara cosplay! The breastplate, gauntlets, & leg armor are all EVA foam, but I 3D modeled & printed the biceps, shoe armor, & various buckles. The carbon fiber pattern was airbrushed on with leather paint & a stencil. #cosplay #masseffect #liara

Random older project post! This was hand sculpted with mostly Bondo. Nowadays it would be a 3d print with some cleanup. Man, times are changing so quickly. I still very much enjoy the process of making things by hand though. Probably won’t stop anytime soon.

At Rose City Comic Con, I gave my judges’s award to this 8 year old up and coming costume designer and creative fabricator. Not only did she make her own costume, she patterned and created a costume that her brother wore, complete with a headpiece!

My first armor build was a decade ago and I’m still proud of this work.

Thinking about all that extra time I have for yet another social media account. 😅
