Vemetric just reached its first big milestone of $100 MRR! 🤩 such a great feeling for new products, where things are going so slow in the beginning (took 8 months to reach this goal) let's see how long it'll take to reach $200 MRR 🚀

I have to admit, the set I built last week wasn’t as satisfying as I had wished so I needed to get another one for this weekend 😬

since the Favicon API launch, Vemetric itself has also gotten more traction and some new GitHub Stars and the Favicon API itself already has 90 stars 🤯 .. in just two days love the support and all the feedback so far, could already ship quite some improvements :D

before I‘m doing some reps on DevOps to prepare a proper selfhosting solution for Vemetric, I‘ll focus on some new things and bringing value to existing users it’s time to ship 💪

someone on Reddit reminded me that it's possible to define inline svgs as favicons so they're now also supported and fetched by the API 🫡

damn, the Favicon API brought in a new customer for Vemetric engineering as marketing ❤️

the new favicon api also motivated me to pimp up the Project Creation / Onboarding flow a bit .. showing the favicon for the domain you type in :D

I'm really happy how the favicon cloud on the landing page turned out :D they're all interactive and when you click on them it fills the demo input and fetches the favicon + all infos

today I'm launching a free API to fetch favicons from any website 🥳 just pass the desired domain and retrieve the favicon in the best quality! you can also resize and convert the image into different formats it's using Bun & Hono, is open source, and easily self-hostable ❤️

Vemetric reached 200 stars on GitHub!! 🤩 🥳 that's a huge milestone for me :) PS: can't wait to show you what I was cooking in the past weeks, announcement incoming in the afternoon!

these are the situations when I'm really happy that I decided to self-host Vemetric of course problems can still occur, but mostly you're in control and able to fix things on your own

yesterday was the last day of our 5 day family-trip to Barcelona .. what a great and diverse city! we managed to pack in many different activities and thanks to the warm weather there in October, we could even visit the beach

today I won the indie lottery :) MRR increased by $4 .. Vemetric is now at $87 MRR with 13 customers jep this is a slow and steady game, I still enjoy it a lot, that’s very important

when I started learning to code I learned the most from looking at existing codebases and tweaking stuff to see how my changes affected things it was also so much fun to learn like this, because "oh when I change this, it behaves like that" is the best feedback cycle, it‘s highly addictive :D

when terms like vibe coding emerge, there are many nuances to it e.g. you can bombard the model without technical guidance and wonder why things go off guard after some time of prompting 1/2

The Next.js Docs for Vemetric were a bit clumsy So I just published a new one which covers differences depending on the Next.js version (to use instrumentation-client.ts or not), App vs Pages Router and Client vs Server-Side integration 💪

I was already thinking a lot about what's the best way to integrate AI into Vemetric (or the other way around) yesterday, OpenAI announced ChatGPT Apps .. providing a ChatGPT App for Vemetric might be a good way to start this journey 👀

improving the Vemetric Docs with Tabs, showing examples for the different SDKs they sync into the localStorage, so the user will always see the correct examples depending on their SDK of choice :D

I've finally switched to proper auth guards via beforeLoad from TanStack Router before I had a weird "Redirects" component that took care of the auth guarding globally and had weird effects when auth state refreshed 🙈
