R.I.P. Frederick Wiseman January 1, 1930 – February 16, 2026 There's nothing more life affirming & heartbreaking @ the same time than the films of Frederick Wiseman. Please, take the time to find them. It's not always easy, but totally worth it.

R.I.P. Frederick Wiseman January 1, 1930 – February 16, 2026 Far & above the best ever. He smirked @ us & dodged our questions (mostly Marcy's), but we followed. More libraries than we can count, more "illegal recording of copyrighted material for industrial use only" than... is legal? A god.

For the love of Frederick Wiseman, we all have the power in our pocket to create our own Law and Order monthly. Nick Shirley's version of Welfare is just a hollow, sociopathic/rac*st child's selfie. Fight fire w/ Wiseman fire - these dorks expose themselves w/ glee.

Tim Mooney is far & above my favorite drummer, ever. (Apologies to Tiki Fulwood.) The algorithms nearly never favor a dork like me ("Like Roky? You'll love NOFX."), but once a decade they deliver. Three shots of what looks like Rozz Rezabek w/ 3x original Sleepers. Just kill me.

Is it advisable... Er, possible? Jeeze, I don't know. How bad of idea is it to introduce an indoor/outdoor cat into a home w/ two indoor-only cats? I'm sensing a bit of jealousy from the two indoor cats.

In Santa Cruz, an Unlikely Venue Unites Punks and Veterans
For more than 40 years, the Veterans Hall has modeled what a shared public space can look like for those cast off by society. Can it withstand increased privatization?

Dopey, yet strangely lovable, "Blackie Preciosa," doesn't get the whole litter/burying concept. Nature/nurture, some things might be lost growing up in a Fruitvale BART parking lot.

R.I.P. John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne December 3, 1948 – July 22, 2025 Thanks for a bunch of stuff, but mainly for allowing me to see my future old-lady share a joint w/ a skinny long haired guy wearing knee-high suede moccasins in San Jose. Also, she cried during Sweet Leaf.

Believe what you want, but Martin Rev had a huge, oversized influence on the dopey-ass music you & I & everybody we know takes for granted. The Cramps alone should suffice, but don't have to.

day. Three recent images of five cats sleeping soundly below. Give it five hours & every one of these felines will be cowering in a hamper/corner/stairwell in horror. Not to be a downer, but I've never enjoyed the 4th. Scared cats, crummy hotdogs, smelly Porto-Sans & men w/ 'staches.

Jamie Farr (Jameel Joseph Farah) Born: July 1, 1934 91 GD Years! Nicest guy ever, even if I never met him. Sent the guy an SCTV questionnaire in '94/'95, received a wonderfully self deprecating reply in less than two days. Still kicking, still hating on Joey Bishop - as it should be.

The "R" section is brutal: Reagan Youth, Really Red, Redd Kross, Otis Redding, Jerry Reed, Lou (Metal Machine...), r.e.m., Rema-Rema!!!! Martin Rev, RF7... and on and on. Marco Pirroni surely managed a decent career out of this nonsense.

I'll take Frank Gorshin any way I can get him. At the $0.99 toy clearance aisle, or as Dr. Fletcher in 12 Monkeys? All in. But it's kinda sad that Frank Gorshin is the only decent thing about the 12 Monkey thing. (I was on a plane.)

Seeing a bunch of Mark E. Smith stuff on here for some reason. Here's mosaic artist Mark Kennedy's tribute from the outside wall of the Affleck’s building in Manchester. Kinda sucky that it's way off in the corner of an alley by the garbage, but I always make a pilgrimage to it, just the same.

A week in the UK, London/Newcastle/the Lakes/Manchester = not a lot of record shopping time. But Oxfam & Vinyl Resting Place in Afflecks/Manchester made for a decent haul. Not a lot of Ruts/Tom Jones/Girlschool in the East Bay.

is lame. Or, more to the point, five cats is too many cats. The good news is that Sammy, pic#1 - our "found 40 miles away after 8 months of lord knows what" feline, has settled in pretty well. He's got some pretty serious ptsd, but fingers crossed.

This double 7" compilation from 1979 is still surprisingly affordable. So, *SO* important to my dumb-ass way back when. The Middle Class & Noh Mercy tracks are now widely available thanks to Frontier & Superior Viaduct, respectively, and are so, *SO* good.

Sammy's home. Eight or nine months & two balls later, let's see if this punk will settle down a bit. I'd gladly drive 10x the 80 miles we just drove to save him from the chamber. But jeeze, maybe just settle down.

H.B.D. Bruce Dern 06/04/36 Not a single bad movie, & he married BIG! Also, I'd already fell for my wife-to-be, but fell harder when I saw she had a Tattoo VHS. CInemax played it to death & none of my friends used a payphone again. His GGACP Ep. is AMAZING, too:

H.B.D. Tony Curtis (born Bernard Schwartz [as GGACP folks are aware]) June 3, 1925 – September 29, 2010 Bored? Watch one of many Tony Curtis masterpieces, The Manitou (1978). He's good, it's good. Plus, Michael Ansara!

This motherfucker... Fuckin' Sammy. Shows up on our porch, eats our food for a month, hangs w/ the other cats, seems happy. Post-chip & shots/pre-neutering (looong wait lists...), Sammy skips. 8 months later, Sammy's in the clink - in Martinez? That's 40 miles away! Guess we'll try it again.

HBD Dez Cadena - June 2, 1961 Only saw him (on guitar) twice, but both were 2 of the best shows of my life. 1st show, 07/82, featured the 2x guitar lineup w/ Chuck Biscuits drumming in Sacramento. 2nd show in Stockton, 04/83, w/ 2xguitars, Bill drumming - but (Austin) Dicks & Nigheist also opened!

In June, 43 years ago, the doors to live band performances miraculously opened & never closed. What's crazy, too, is I didn't get a license/car for a good year & a half, and somehow managed to find rides to Sacramento & S.F. (from Stockton) multiple times & week. Didn't sleep a lot.

Maybe Roku needs to put a little more thought into which photos they use for their search thumbnails. At some point I couldn't remember who I was searching for, Tony Curtis or "Mean" Gene Okerlund.
