The start to this second half has been absolutely excellent, a real gear shift from England.

Watching this game with Spanish commentary, it’s interesting to notice the differences in tone and volume compared to the UK. Anything that goes near the Cape Verde goal is given the full treatment. If Spain score, the lad might just burst.

I’m away so doing a lot of watching of the World Cup via highlights and social media and the main thing I’ve picked up is that, despite absolutely punishing real fans, it’s the supporters who are bringing the colour, the atmosphere and the fantastic content.
