Two FANTASTIC touches. Ayling’s composure deserved a goal there and Browne’s header was difficult but made to look easy. LOVE IT

Blooooody hell. Whittaker missed it twice in quick succession before that bounced off Strelec… Anyway, home and hosed and ready for the second half… Decent stuff so far - would love a second

Another huge shout for Tommy Smith on the Sky Sports sofa. What a lovely, genuinely top bloke. He obviously loves his role at the club.

I think the Birmingham physio needs to take a look at Beadle again. He’s got a lump by his eye, would not be surprised if he got a concussion earlier on.

Really looked like we were all at sea there. Full of nervy moments at the back and there we go… A great pass and a great finish. JUST ONSIDE.

Nigel Farage lied multiple times at his press conference today - including saying no-one who voted Green in Gorton and Denton has a job and he's "certain" Reform won most British born voters in the by-election, based on zero evidence, and yet not a single journalist there pushed back on them

Tricky game tonight. Birmingham have only lost once at home all season and don’t concede many. Very well organised and decent on the break, this is a tough test.

85% of this match has been wrestling at corners and free kicks. Sort of compelling and sort of grim at the same time. The quality of the shirts has really improved, they should all be in tatters.

It’d be nice if Chris Mason had the bollocks to interview Farage and co in the same way I’ve just seen him tread all over Zack Polanski’s words. Mason really puts the ‘arsekisser’ in ‘right wing arsekisser’.

So many bedwetters on the Instagram posts these days. Hellberg has made a good team better, genuinely a threat in every game now, but we can’t win all the time and sometimes we’ll stumble. Leicester played well. We had less space in the middle. Need to find solutions to that. Onto the next one.

I don’t mind the players sniping at each other, Hackney and Conway and Brynn all getting frustrated with the movement and the speed of passing. Can’t fault the effort, the application offensively has been a little bit lacking in the last two games. We got in behind outside so often but to no avail.

Stodgy stuff at times, felt there wasn’t any times where we burst through the middle tonight. That was in part due to Leicester’s organisation and (at times) aggressive press. When we found space out wide, Leicester defended well. Sniffs and snatches but nothing clinical. Defensively a little off.

Leicester’s press, when they do it, is stifling our defence. A four on four press that’s stopping us playing it around the corner or quickly into players in space.

Who has kidnapped the real Luke Ayling and replaced him with this strange hybrid made up of all of his mistakes? That SHOULD have been 2-1 Leicester.

Getting into great positions but nothing doing and then a turnover and some pace and we’re level. Ayling REALLY off it tonight and he’s been magnificent for most of the season… Conway very good at finding space behind the full back… Second half promise

A very very odd start. Some real intent and zipping the ball around, got in behind a few times and then we concede from a simple set piece. There is space to exploit

Looking in various places after the game today and you’d think our form had been garbage. Expecting to win every game at a canter should never be our default position. If we did go up, it would be such a grind to stay in the division, I’m not sure some of our fan base would cope.

Feel like Coventry bossed the first half, but been clinical in the second. We’ve had an amazing run, still created plenty of chances, not quite defensively at it. We go again. I think without that penalty, we’d probably get a point.

Soft second. Soft pen. Very unlike us lately. Coventry have been very clinical, we’ve been a bit off. That penalty came at the worst time. Still fancy us to keep creating mind.

Poor goal to concede. First defensive miscommunication in what feels like an age. Especially after bossing the start of the second half. The hyperbole from the Sky commentators is very hard to listen to. This was always a free hit at the end of an amazing run but nevertheless a bit frustrating.

Coventry are a very good side and have started tirelessly and aggressively. Dangerously quick and with a high press. We haven’t found answers just yet but there’s space and room once we get through them. They’ve flooded the middle so there’s space out wide.

Coventry have just as good a midfield and forward threats as we do. They’ve started well, but we’ve created some half chances. Not quite clicking up front but there’s space there. Their best chances are coming from squeezing us, same as the goal, but we are in this.

Heading to Coventry tonight for their game with Middlesbrough in what feels like a shootout for the Championship title. Here's a piece on unheralded Swedish coach Kim Hellberg and how he has transformed Boro into the league's entertainers:

I like Thomas Frank a lot, but something seemed really off and it just wasn’t as easy as he’d made it look at Brentford… I think he’ll go elsewhere and succeed again. WHO do Spurs go for? Feels like a crucial appointment.

One of my favourite periods of watching Boro this. Carrick era possession at times but faster, more bite and nip in the tackle and defenders who love picking a pass. Dangerous with and without the ball. It would not have been like this had Edwards stayed. WE NEED TO ENJOY THIS

When we win it high or pass through the press (both Malanda and Ayling have been SUPERB at that), we’ve been such a threat. Harem scarem first 15-20 minutes, Sol makes a BRILLIANT save, but it’s a great team performance so far. LOVE IT
