Reading the vox pops on Jenrick from the BBC, and as usual they have one 'this is good', one 'this is bad' and one 'I hate politics,' which is a daft attempt at impartiality but very funny and they should do it for all things in my view.

Jenrick is the worst kind of charlatan so happily he's found a place where he belongs. The gall of the man to stand up in the country his party ran into the ground for 14 miserable years and go 'look at the state of this!'

All of the jokes about Jenrick and The Traitors are just too funny for me. I can't handle how original they all are.

Despicable stuff on Grenfell from Cleverly. He should read Show Me The Bodies by Peter Apps and then be asked about bonfires of regulation. This Labour government has been very disappointing but the fact that it removed people like this from office will always make it worthwhile.

Incredibly impeachable shit regardless of the fact that surely there are hardly any people in the USA who even want this as an outcome.

24 books read this year, down a third on 2024 (new baby selfishly took up my time). Little new fiction - best novel I read all year was The Remains of the Day, hardly a hot take but it's a beautiful book. I would also recommend Challenger by Adam Higginbotham and The Searchers by Andy Beckett.

I keep coming back to this bizarre claim. What do they think the Labour Party is? When was at it best? When it couldnβt win a majority or hold power for more than a couple of years? When it was torn apart and almost wiped out? Deeply weird stuff

McLaren have finally managed to properly see off Piastri's challenge. If Ferrari ran a race like this we'd never hear the end of it.

Probably too little too late for Tsunoda but doing a really decent job today so far. Ultimately good drivers just get ruined in that car, time and time again.

Would love some in-depth numbers on what the majority of 20-30 somethings basically paying a 9% higher marginal tax rate has actually done to economic behaviour. Feels very under-discussed

We should stop the boats because it's dangerous, and we should stop the scapegoating of immigrants because it's wrong and cruel. Controlled migration is good for the country, helps build our economy and diversity strengthens our communities. (1/6) π§΅

Absolutely insane shit here. You can make a case that Hamilton's been iffy, but to start popping off at Leclerc is ridiculous. 'When Ferrari is united, we get results' - not won a championship for nearly 20 years!
