The one really fun thing about the internet is the level of very specific, and niche, information to find. Like how I just sleeved up a board game and then found the game will absolutely not fit in the box anymore, then I discover a video of someone refolding the insert to make it all fit.

Sleeving up a board game. I don't do this often. I used to play MT:G so am used to it, but this feels like it is taking forever.

In a couple of days they are making some big new Mage Knight announcement, and I am excited.

A couple of years back I read if on a winters night a traveller for the first time, and it was a wild ride. It was also my introduction to Calvino. Now a couple of years later I am reading Cosmicomics for the first time. Also a wild ride.

All these years on amd, for me, nobody has managed to create a city builder as good as Sim City 2000. All other city builders since have been far to convoluted and complex for me to enjoy, or too cartoonishly simple. Sim City 2000 really hits a perfect sweet spot for me that will not be suprassed

Am I the only one in the ttrpg, and board game, creator (ha, do I even count as one anymore) scene that does all my design work using pen and paper, only turning to a computer to type up a nearly finished thing?

I have gotten into dark chocolate, so that is the stage I am at in my life now.

When I swapped to a Mac years ago I got annoyed with the window close being on the other side so I started using command-q to close windows so I didn't have the mental load of moving the mouse wrong. Now I have to shortcut alt-q on whatever Linux I am using to do the same or I forget to close them.

I am going to write a comedy RPG about magicians in the same way that I have been writing g the test match special RPG for the last decade.

My favorite solo games last year: Mage Knight. Cascadia. Osmosis Solitaire.

There should be a ttrpg where the player characters are always off screen like Mrs Columbo, or Marris.

So, what are the best solo journalling games right at this moment?

My hot take for the TTRPG scene today is that markdown is shit actually, and you should just write all your stuff in HTML. It isn't as complex to do as you think, and it will end up being both portable, and more accessible as you don't use text level elements for layout.

I was considering buying Dungeom Down as it looms like a really cool games. Then I found out that the makers of the game used AI art throughout the whole thing. So that publisher can go fuck themselves. I won't buy games fro. Companies that hate workers.

Any time I see anyone saying "have you tried installing Linux?" I am going to ask them if they have tried installing BSD.

Doing a game design. What if the games from Crystal Maze, but the Gladiators are trying to stop you. Trying to solve a sliding block puzzle, but wolf is swinging about on a rope above you trying to knock you over.

If you put a TTRPG system in a box with some players and seal it closed the system will both matter, and not matter, until you open the box and observe it.

You don't have to be internet famous to make a game, you can just make one. You don't have to sell a ton of it to prove it's good.

Nothing else I do in my life ever again will bring anyone as much joy as my 19 year old nephew just shew when I did sponge ball magic for him.

Can I learn and master an award winning rope magic routine in just a few days to amuse kids at Christmas? No. Has that stopped me trying? Also no.

So search is broken, but there is hope: non-general purpose search engines. Search engines that hyper focus on one specific topic. Conjuring Archive is an excellent example of this. You type in a magic thing, it returns a bunch of results including author, description, and publication source.

I think it would be cool if games that used AI had to include a prominent label on the front of the box that read "the people who made this game hat artists, and the wider creative community, and are working towards the end of artistic endeavour"
