Good morning~ We're getting our floors replaced, my partner is sick, and I didn't get much sleep last night so am battling a gnarly headache. It's a tons of coffee while marathoning anime day.

It's almost time for my annual reread of The Hobbit, but that's an easy answer. What I could really do with a reread of is actually the Poetic Eddas of Norse Mythology. Especially since I know Tolkien took a fair amount of inspiration from Norse Myth. Also since I follow both Freyja and Odin. :P

Stayed up late writing tomorrow's Substack post because I haven't missed a week yet but more importantly I'm trying to ingrain in myself that self imposed deadlines should be just as important as deadlines set by someone else. Dreams won't achieve themselves after all.

I'm sure most witches and Pagans feel a spike in energy and productivity around the Full Moon, but for me it's always happened during the New Moon. Today is a great example. Highly productive, couldn't figure out why. Then was reminded it's a New Moon. Any other witches experience this? #witchsky

One of the world's simplest joys that is also the most underrated: stepping out of a steaming shower to a house that smells of freshly brewed coffee and putting on freshly cleaned clothes. Bonus points for then being able to enjoy said coffee beside your house panther.

One of my favorite things that Luna does is come in from the other room, wait for me to pick her up, and then purr loudly while I kiss and cuddle her. All the while her eyes are closed, too. It's the cutest, sweetest thing and I adore her for it.

I heavily prefer fiction but a non-fiction book that's been on my radar for awhle is Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. I've heard such fantastic things about it and had it recommended to me several times

I do extremely little worldbuilding before I start writing and instead just discover/make stuff up as I write. I'd rather tell the story instead of get hung up for hours in world building. To keep track of things, I have a notebook dedicated to each story. This is Tales of Shady Nook's.
