To this day I wonder how the lyrics for the public domain version of the Ballad of Casey Jones came about. Like, T. Lawrence Seibert gets the rights to this song about an actual person that died in a horrific train crash, and jazzes up the lyrics with *checks notes* "Casey's wife cheated on him."
