❤️✊🏾💚 Black weddings were never just about romance. They were about legacy. From 1619–1865, Black marriage was illegal in the United States. Not because love didn’t exist—but because the law refused to recognize it.

This year marks 100 years of celebrating Black history. Now more than ever, it is critical that we teach our history, preserve our history, and continue to make history. Black history is American history.
