A great win, with national implications. At last, councils will have to take into account the cumulative effects of livestock factories on river catchments. It's all about increments of excrement.

Elon Musk has discovered that the US government does not spend taxpayers' money - because there is no such thing. Instead it creates all the money it spends out of thin air, on a computer keyboard. He's just found modern monetary theory.

What a great idea. As World Book Day becomes more about selling clothes than books, how great it is that the library does *both*. Well done Orkney.

This is the right move. For so many reasons: A tiny tax on people who will barely notice - £24bn a year to help fund Ukraine and keep up foreign aid - and so much more that’s crying out to be done right here in Britain. All without putting any more on the shoulders of working people

The energy price cap goes up again next week - but there’s nothing OFGEM can do about that. It’s the government that needs to take urgent action - we need reform of the energy market. (1/3)

Anyone can become an MP. No training is required, and then they set the rules for everyone else. That’s absurd. All prospective parliamentarians and councillors should have to take an exam to prove their competence.
