I had a fantastic meeting today with the Associated General Contractors of Washington and Inland Northwest to discuss the importance of investing in workforce education and improving local transportation systems.

The Trump administration has put Washingtonians through whiplash as they waver on commitments to clean up waste at the Hanford nuclear site. Progress cannot stop. The federal government must get rid of this waste before it compromises our drinking water and endangers our environment.

Families, business owners, and farmers across the Eighth District are struggling as they face the impacts of President Trump’s erratic tariff policy. We should instead be working to boost local economies and lower costs for working families and Americans.

Make no mistake, Republicans' Big Ugly Bill will raise health insurance and education costs for hardworking Washingtonians while cutting taxes for billionaires. I cannot think of anything more unfair and deceptive – Republicans in Congress and the White House are selling out the middle class.

In my meeting with The American Association of Teaching Health Centers this week, we discussed our shared priorities of making medical education accessible to all and expanding care in rural and underserved communities across the country.

Republicans' Big Ugly Bill is a direct attack on women’s health. Their bill seeks to defund Planned Parenthood and restrict access to critical care for millions. I will continue to fight against this bill and will always stand by a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions.

On Wednesday, my office will host an in-person service academy information day in Issaquah. This is a great opportunity for interested students and their parents to learn about the application process and speak directly with representatives and graduates from each of the U.S. Military Academies.

I had a fantastic visit to The Line Bike Experience and the SnoValley Innovation Center, where Snovalley Chamber of Commerce Director Kelly Coughlin and I met with local business owners and talked about the importance of Twin Peaks tourism in North Bend!
