This past Sunday, SudburyROCKS!!! held their annual running event raising funds for cancer care in Sudbury, raising over 1 Million dollars since its inception. I was honoured to run and support this community classic.

Stephen Lewis was a giant in our movement. He was a tremendous orator, a fighter for the working class, and his effortless kindness and willingness to lift up those around him will never be forgotten.

Students are standing up to Doug Ford and his gutting of OSAP grants. Young people cannot afford more Conservative cuts to education and an endless cycle of student debt when the cost of living is already unberable. Together we are gong to continue to fight to save OSAP ✊️

First day back at Queen's Park! Families and educators came ready to rally and fight for public education. The underfunding of our public education system, cuts to special education in our schools, and prolonged delays and uncertainty within the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) are harming our kids.

The Ontario NDP Summer Internship Program has 12 paid summer internships for young people (18–25) who want to learn how politics and organizing actually work. Deadline is March 27 and all application details are on the website!

Joined my colleagues for part of their northern highway safety tour to shed a light on the roads conditions up north. This is a chance to raise awareness, but also to talk to communities, families and impacted individuals so that we can continue to bring forward solutions to keep people safe.

My thanks to the volunteers and staff at the Blue Door Soup Kitchen for letting my co-op student Jasmine and I join you for the morning. It was a pleasure to work alongside you, and to learn more about the work being done to help Sudburians stay fed.

Yesterday afternoon I had the opportunity alongside USW 6500 Health and Safety Compensation Committees to meet with widows and victims of occupational disease. Mourn the Dead, and fight for the living.

We have written to Minister Jones about the funding that was promised for a HART Hub in Sudbury. This funding was promised over a year ago, and we need answers from the Government about when this funding is actually coming and how it will be implemented to support our community.

Went for a tour of the Carpenters Union Local 2486 Training Centre.  They are a huge part of preparing workers for important careers in the skilled trades and training the next generation of workers to build the critical infrastructure and housing that Northern Ontario and our province needs.

January marks Crime Stoppers Month! I was glad to be able to connect with many of the groups working to make our neighbourhoods safer, and to hear directly from law enfocement and constituents about how we can enhace public safety, prevent crime, and support the community.

We wrote to the Minister of Health this week about the impact that the closing of the LifeLabs laboratory would have on our community.

We are greatly concerned about the closure of the the LifeLabs laboratory here in Sudbury. We continue to urge the Premier and Minister of Health to intervene so Sudbury’s LifeLabs laboratory does not shutter this spring as planned.

The next few days are going to fun! Giulia, my *amazing* OLIP Intern, will be in town to experience Sudbury firsthand and in person! I’ll keep you posted! 😉

The Ford government is still more than 100,000 housing starts short of its target for new homes in 2025. That is unacceptable. We need to build affordable homes and invest in affordable housing in Ontario!

Rally for healthcare! In North Bay, 40 frontline healthcare workers have recieved their layoff notice. Why? Because instead of the 4% the Ontario Hopsital Association needs to maintain current levels (which already need to be improved), Doug Ford is giving them 0.7% 🤯

Families want stability and a fair shot at getting ahead! We need to make it easier for Ontarians to afford a home, keep their job, and pay for their grocceries.

The problem is not with the Skills Development fund; it's with a government that consistently disregards taxpayer money and continuously sidesteps questions about their responsibility.
