[Sketchbook Thread] Since I have a bunch of sketchbooks that have been (mostly) empty lying around in my room for years, I thought it would be finally time to change that and use them. To motivate me further, I'm going to try to keep posting new pages in this thread. We'll see how it goes.

This is a Yano-kun stan account now. The anime has unexpectedly grown on me, which made me want to check out the manga. And it turns out, the manga has an incredibly lovely art style.

We never stop learning

With Michelle Sugimoto handling the storyboard, and serving as both Episode Director and Animation Director on the latest Ranma 1/2 episode, it was bound to be good. Expressive character acting and a lot of movement, fitting for such a chaotic episode.

Due to Fujimoto's recommendation, I started reading the manga "Home At The Horizon"/"Okaeri Suiheisen", and it's a really lovely manga about half brothers and the meaning of family and belonging. It just started earlier this year, is ongoing and worth a read!

My Anime AMV recap for the month of October. Pretty productive month in terms of anime, and I have seen some great shows. Call of the Night and Fragrant Flower were big surprises for me, while the highlight was definitely Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7E3k...

The One Piece anime going seasonal is a crazy announcement, never thought that would happen. It was already surprising how on earth they were able to keep up this level of production quality since Wano, and now having more time, will certainly help to create a healthier schedule for everyone.

Been reading the "The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity " manga all day, as I really liked the anime, and it continues to be diabetes inducing. It's almost unusual how good-natured it is, and how quickly conflicts get resolved... but why not! Why not just be wholesome all the way through ?

The Boy And The Heron #art

Whenever I watch a film like this, I'm falling in love with animation all over again. It's almost hard to believe some of the visuals that were presented, and it will definitely take me a few more rewatches to fully comprehend the creativity on display. What a bombastic journey, pun fully intended.

Finished "The Summer Hikaru Died" and it was great! Effective in its horror themes, and has a fantastic presentation. The visual language is creative and unique, to the point where you barely notice where the animation is cutting corners, due to the show consistently looking interesting.

"Yano-kun's Ordinary Days" had a fun first episode, but I was really worried about it becoming repetitive quickly. I did not expect this show to grow on me as much as it did. It's just a really wholesome, lighthearted show and I'm enjoying my weekly check-ins with this show.

Finally started "The Summer Hikaru Died" and the first two episodes have been fantastic. Aside from the animation, which is full of creative moments, it's the sound design that is so noteworthy. Sound design being so effective, that I can't help but be forced to mention that, is rather rare.

Finished S2 of Call of the Night, and it has been a lot of fun. S1 was nice, but didn't have me thinking about it much. But with more episodes, it was able to connect me more to the characters and themes. It also made me realize just how much I like the concept itself, with the story taking place -
