The opening for Kamiina Botan is so incredible! I'm genuinely in love, it takes proper advantage of the 4:3 aspect ratio, and is filled with creative shots that establish a fantastic mood. Probably opening of the season, very much in love with it.

Watched the Mario Galaxy movie, and people were being way too overdramatic. It's not a good movie, but it's fine. I expected a 2.5/5 movie and got exactly that. You know what isn't a 2.5/5 though ? Witch Hat Atelier, go watch that now.

Fantastic debut. Went above my expectations! Some really creative decisions in how they chose to visualize the storytelling of Rakugo, and the character acting was beyond what I was expecting to see. Very pleased.

And with that ends Seihantai and Ikoku Nikki. Two absolutely wonderful anime, and certainly my favorites from this season. Always made me look forward to Sundays and I'm happy that Seihantai is going to return with a S2, and we'll get another work from the same mangaka in the meantime.

Started (watching) Umineko. It won't be my "main" game, but something I will slowly progress through over the upcoming weeks/months. I don't have much experience with visual novels, but I was really in the mood for one, so I thought I'll see what the hype is all about.

Thread / Games I Played In 2026 These are the games that I either finished, or played a significant amount of.

Finished Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This is an interesting game in that, I had never been less excited for a Pokemon game, and this has a lot to do with me questioning the concept of it, with it taking place in one city. An idea that can work, but I had no faith that they'd make it interesting.

Got another game for whenever I need to take a break from Pokopia

Finished Netflix One Piece S2 and its a step up from S1. I expect most people to enjoy it, but its a weird experience to me. Every element, emotional beat and highlight is worse than in the anime/manga, but its also fine enough, to not be terrible. All in all, could be worse, could be better.

Journal with Witch was great, and Seihantai and Medalist were especially strong this week. Another great weekend for anime.
