I’m not sure “triggered” is the right word, but this movie brought back the most annoying parts of 2020 and left me a little angry at the reminders. The ending was both creative and messed up. Phoenix’s character was complex, but it felt like he got what was coming. Not what you think. Good movie.

I heard Heat 2 the novel is actually good. Val’s story continues, with flashbacks of De Niro’s and Pacino’s characters. Mann wants to film it, but obviously, there will need to be a recast. Another book for the read pile.

It was strange watching the new Lilo & Stitch and spending the whole time wondering if that was Zach Galifianakis. Was it dyed hair or maybe weight loss in his face? I thought it was him, but I wasn't 100% sure. Also, it was a pretty good movie. Of course, the 2D original is better. Son liked it.

I started The Long Walk audiobook on my way to work today. I last read it about 15 years ago, and I think it might be in my top three Stephen King books. If you haven't read it, check it out.

Predictable but strong acting. You might like it if you're looking for a gritty crime thriller. I was looking for something other than a big blockbuster, and this scratched that itch.

Americana is a strange little movie. I saw that Paul Walter Hauser was in it, so I made sure to watch it. Sweeney is in it, but an assortment of weird characters steal the show. It takes a good 30 minutes to get going.

I finished the Lower Decks season 1 finale. An Exocomp officer, the Pakleds being hilariously dangerous, and the Titan swooping in to save the day, this felt more like Star Trek than most of the new shows. It was pure joy for me.

I can see why Lapham’s work is legendary. These stories have some of the most raw, flawed, and well-written characters I’ve read in a long time.

Payback is a great neo-noir crime thriller if you watch the Straight Up director’s cut. It trims the filler and ends differently than I remembered. It’s a shame most people only know the original and came away with mixed or negative impressions.

I knocked Spielberg's Duel off my movie bucket list. By the end, I still wanted to see the driver. Maybe even a twist where the car actually triggered the duel and the truck was playing to win. It was entertaining.

If I started a TMNT shelf display, I don’t think I’d even collect the turtles. It would just be a shelf of random characters from the comics and show, ones that, to most people, could be from anything.

I waited too long to start Lower Decks. Not many shows get a deep laugh from me. 2 episodes in. Hey, Ferengi! Get out of here! Go on, git!
