This house up for sale in the UK is named Swallowholme. I’m wondering if it would help our chances with our listing to name the house, but what would we call it? Scissor-Swallowing Manor? Cat Distribution Center Headquarters? The Dog Run?

Today’s the day they’re taking listing photos of my house. Scurrying around doing the last minute preps and trying not to panic over every tiny detail. I’m giving myself a lazy day tomorrow to recover!

You know you have life-long ear problems when stopping in to have an ear tube inserted feels like no more of a big deal than stopping in for a haircut.

Going through old boxes, and was just about to throw away one I thought was empty. Decided to open it just to check. Inside was the wedding veil I bought but decided not to wear 25 years ago. It still has the tag on it. 😂

We use a great handyman that is a bit of a perfectionist (a good quality for a handyman.) He just told me I had done a really professional job on a diy ceiling repair. I’ll float on that one all day!

I have 2 good men in my life. Happy Father’s Day to the hubs and my dad! Bean does not like to be held. Can you tell? 😂

If you lose one of the clips that hooks the valance to the top of your blinds, it will be a non-standard size and nobody local will have it. If you find the ONE place on the internet that does, and you order it, you will find the lost clip the next day.

I’ve sold 3 things on fb marketplace and listed 6 more today. Unless it’s something I can’t move by myself, I meet people at Kroger for the exchange. Just now, I learned that there was a shooting at the mall over a marketplace exchange gone bad. 😱 Gonna shift to meeting at the police station.

Good start to the day! Sold a big ticket item on fb marketplace, which is the ONLY reason I’m back on fb. Now, I have 6 days to do the final things to get my house ready for listing pics. 😬

Well-traveled friends, if you were in Paris for one day between 10a and 6p, in the general area of the 6th arrondissement and the Latin Quarter, what would you most want to do/see? Hidden gems get bonus points!

Having a little experience working with royal icing on cookies definitely pays off while caulking windowsills. 😂

Still left to do before listing the house: some window sill caulking, paint trim touchups, two closets to clean out, and some garage organization and cleaning. There’s light at the end of the tunnel.

Storms came through yesterday and brought some lovely relief from the heat, but also brought a bunch of limbs down in the yard. Sure is nice on the porch this morning, though.

PSA for everyone with hard water: Go clean your glass shower doors before they get any worse and it requires 2 rounds of barkeeper’s friend plus another with vinegar and steel wool. Then get back in the habit of using the squeegee.

Had a great first meeting of our little book club last night! Our book for July will be appropriate for the country’s 250th birthday, A Founding Mother: A Novel Of Abigail Adams by Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoie.

Happy 3rd birthday, Bean! I found him on June 14, and the vet said he was about 2 weeks old, so I’ve designated June 1 as his birthday. He was quite the celebrity back on Post as I bottle fed him!

When I first got a couple of these mats for the dogs a few months ago, Kia immediately tore into one and chewed a hole in it. I finally patched it and tried again. She’s so happy to have it back! She just brought it out on the porch to lie on!

I really hope that whoever currently owns the house we will end up buying is busy painting walls and cabinets, pressure washing, and cleaning. I don’t want to do all this again.

Yesterday, I finished Theo of Golden. We’ll be discussing it in book club on Monday. I loved it. I read some negative reviews, which I admit, I don’t disagree with. The dialogue wasn’t great, seems like YA fiction (quite possibly the real intended audience as Levi volunteers with a teen group,)

I’m so happy that my adult child consults me for those heavy, burdensome questions about life.
