Nearly 13,000 Coloradans showed up for caucuses across the state last week — almost doubling turnout from recent cycles! This is what democracy looks like.

An investigation by the Colorado Times Recorder found ICE detained more than 3,000 people in at least nine undisclosed “hold rooms” across Colorado. Some detainees, including children and the elderly, were reportedly held for weeks without beds. (1/2)

Our statement on today's killing in Minneapolis

I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening. The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.

This is disgusting on so many levels. Families of those arrested by ICE near Vail say agents left behind branded “death cards” after arrests, a racist intimidation tactic, according to advocates and community leaders. Our communities deserve better, and we await the results of DHS’ investigation.

Trump tried to cut off child care and family assistance funding for Colorado families. A judge just extended a block on those cuts. Democrats, led by AG Phil Weiser, stepped in to stop an extreme, politically motivated attack on kids, parents and working families. We’re not backing down.

We can’t wait for the primary to start speaking to voters in a district as close and consequential as CO-08. Ground Truth is a program we believe in to build meaningful, lasting relationships with voters.

ICE used a 5-year-old as bait. Disgusting.

Even after ICE killed Renee Nicole Good in cold blood and continues to abuse its power, terrorize our communities and rip families apart, Republicans still voted to give them more money. Democrats refused.

Nobody is above the law. Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser just launched a new tool to help you report misconduct by ICE and other federal agents so our communities can be safer and accountability can be enforced.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dedicated his life to the fight for justice, equality and human dignity. Today, we honor him by recommitting to the work he began to build a more just and inclusive future for all. His legacy reminds us that progress requires persistence, courage and action from everyone.

We’re not surprised.
