Finished Quartet from @somethingclassic.bsky.social -- very glad I got this one! It's a simple RPG, mostly linear, but with a combat system that allows from some nice combinations. It is fairly easy to create overpowered combos this way, but the core gameplay is fun, music is good, story satisfies!

Another four job fiesta done! Mastering red mage gives dual cast (2 spells in a turn). Time mage has quick, which gives two turns after casting. 2x quick and meteor (4 non-elem, random damage hits), then 2 of 2x meteor destroys all bosses in the final dungeon. Blue magic is top tier, as always.

My summer work schedule has finally settled down, so I can get back to streaming more often. And I have a new exciting thing - a capsule machine I won during Speedromizer! Tomorrow ~ 11am ET, I'm going to draw a random game and speedrun it or casually play it! I have an even mix of options.

Short version of my thoughts on the Tales of Elliot demo: * Game feels good! Combat is fun, exploration is fun. * Magicite and equipment combos will be fun to experiment with. * Music and audio in general is good. * Begging for a toggle for field commentary from the fairy. Far too much of it now.

Finished up my FFV Four Job Fiesta! Offline this year because summer is always a mess with work and trying to stream. Pretty easy run -- Black, Blue, Red mages, and Chemist to round it out. !Mix on a Black Mage is absurdly good. Final boss is very easy with this combo.

I've been playing some indie RPG demos for a demo-review video, and I played through one for The Time I Have Left ( @groundga.bsky.social ). This is an *extremely* cool game, a mystery-exploration game with turn-based combat, dodging/parrying mechanics. It's tense. Great dark vibes. Check it out!

I've been running Skyblazer here and there, since it's in Speedromizer in June and I'm teaching a new learner! Been making a lot of progress. Got stuck for a while at a high 28 over the last year or so, but got this run tonight, which is actually a 27 flat. Fixing a few mistakes will get the 26!

I've played almost 6 hours of @expedition33.bsky.social, and it's absolutely blowing me away! Excellent music and visuals, and the combat is extremely engaging. So far, it's my dream RPG and I'm looking forward to more!

We have an enclosed catio where our boys can hang out. "Enclosed" means that it has firm wire mesh that the cats can't get through, but smaller critters can -- including this snake! Eastern Garter Snake that had a minor encounter with our cats. Didn't bite anyone, fortunately, but needed relocation.

After 4 hours, I'm pretty happy with this remaster. Voice overs are different -- but I think most are decent! Battle speedup is a great QOL feature. I'm still using classic item menu, though 😅 Congrats to new viewers Darius_Frost and finalcorgi2 on winning the giveaway!

65 hours later, I finally finished Fantasian: Neo Dimension last night after picking away at in since it released in November. Though it drags on a bit and the character developments lags behind toward the end, it's a great, almost excellent, JRPG with some thoughtful mechanics to build challenge.

Many thoughts today. It's not surprising that Switch 2 costs $450 ($500 w/Mario Kart) -- people begged for a more powerful system, we got it, and everything is more expensive now. Chill. Charging $80 for MK is insane - but cost of dev has increased with few price increases for a long time. 👇
