Talked to someone today about the turn against Israel in Democratic politics, and it finally crystalized to me that the question isn't "why now?". It's "why not sooner?". This was the last bipartisan issue. Nothing else survived so it was really just waiting for a shock.

A while ago, a friend asked me if Israel should have convinced Trump not to go to war in Iran when he was interested in doing so. I think we’re all getting an answer to that question.
