De Dolle Stille Nacht Reserva and a great, varied, cheese plate. A superb pairing.

New Belgian Train pricing system - you pay by km travelled. Bought my first ticket today. Senior Return to Sint Truiden was €8.50. Now its €17.20. Even with my new Train+ card it's €10.60. Definitely worth buying a Train+ . Still enormously cheaper than travelling on the UK train network.

Great evening at 't Parlement, Halle. Always great beers and company here.

At Den Herberg Café and Brewery. Enjoying their Geus Genereus with additional 4, 5 , 6 & 7 year old lambic. Softer, more mellow and complex than their excellent Geuze Devillé.

Having fun getting this stamped at various lambic breweries and lambic cafés. A great initiative by Visit Flanders and Visit Vlaams-Brabant to support lambic brewing culture and fully funded by them. I have 6 stamps already🙂😋

Another enjoyable evening in the excellent La Fleur en Papier Doreé.

The newly released @3Fonteinen Oude Geuzes Cuvée Armand & Gaston Vintage 2022 is really good. The use of 20% 4 year lambic and honey in the blend and 3 years in the bottle results in a soft, smooth, mellow flavour. At the Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen Lambik-O-Droom.

End of night beer in a corner café in Brussels. Very vibrant. Big range of ages. Good fun being had by all.

Meal at In 't Spinnekopke tonight. Excellent house geuze by Den Herberg, classic Bloempanch Black Pudding and then Flemish Stew with Stouterik.

Returning to Cantillon in style. Magnum of 5 year old Saint Lamvinus. It's excellent of course.

Fantastic night in Nüetnigenough. Great beers and food. Good company too..

Excellent fresh bottle of Rochefort Triple Extra in Café Bizon.

Back in Brussels. Appropriate first beer a fine quality draft Zinnebir at Billie Bar.

Today's Struise Brewers beer is Pannepot Special Reserva. Aged 4 years in Bordeaux barrels and 7.5 years in the bottle. Aromas and flavours of dark chocolate malt and red wine. Never sweet. Lovely bitter finish. Fantastic

Superb Struise Black Albert Vintage 2020. A truly exceptional beer.

Finally got to try the new Boddingtons cask brewed by J.W. Lees. Boddington was my beer of choice in the early 1970's. My initial disappointment it is only vaguely like what I loved back then is recognition its a pleasant, well made beer. If it gets more cask drunk - great.

Starting today drinking some old Cantillon. Both bottles had aged extremely well.

It's a beautiful sunny day at Grote Dorst today. Warm enough to sit outside. Starting with 4 lambic beers. Huge variation in taste. The joys and wonder of spontaneous fermentation.

Good to be back at the 3 Fonteinen Lambik-O-Droom even if the skies have clouded over. Enjoying excellent vintage geuze.
