The Flyers probably win that game with a competent PP. I think it’s by far the biggest thing they need to fix. I think a lot of guys are playing injured, they are clearly gassed from trying to get to this point, and they weren’t supposed to be here. Enjoy the ride.

Flyers really just need to completely refresh the PP. try something crazy. Put Martone Mich Zegras with York together. Do something different. Can’t just keep repeating this and expecting it to change

To me, Tocchet’s big test against the Canes will be adapting to how the game flows. I thought towards the end he was getting outmaneuvered by Muse a bit and Vladar had to stand on his head to eke out the win. The Canes are a different beast entirely.

The Flyers' entire top 4 defensemen have been stellar. All four of those guys look every bit of meeting the moment. Risto's offensive game woke up, Sanheim looks like a number 1, York has been a wall, and Drysdale looks like a guy you could be happy getting back for Gauthier.

Zegras got that entire thing going.

Guys who have completely gone up another gear in the playoffs: Couturier, Tippett, Drysdale, Sanheim, Risto, Martone, Hathaway, Glendening. Zegras and Foerster have continued to be awesome, but those other guys look like completely different players.

Through two games, a lot of positives for the Flyers young core. Drysdale looks every bit of a first pair defender. Been more active offensively and his defense might be his best weapon at this point. Made Crosby look foolish. His skating is unreal, so hard to get separation off of him.

Matches the eye test. So many players looked great it’s hard to name someone who didn’t.

Credit to Tocchet for this season. This team looks ready for the playoffs, they bought into his system, and it’s working well.

Flyers looking like straight up the better team through the first half.

Konecny and Couturier have the juice so far. Buzzing out there. Lot of young guys look great too.

Flyers series is going to come down to goaltending and penalties. If the Flyers stay out of the box and Vladar remains consistent, I think they can grind out the Penguins. A lot of the public models aren’t seeing the difference in net because of Ersson, and the Flyers have legitimate momentum.

Finally can start working on my regular season in review article. Going to look at how each player performed by the metrics and try to assign a grade. And maybe a spicy grade for one Rick Tocchet as well.

Mich and Martone have owned in GameScore for the last few weeks.

Michkov really woke up the last 15% of the season. He and Martone have been critical to this teams success.

Win or lose, this game being tied up by Barkey, Michkov, Foerster, Martone, and Zegras is so important for their development

Flyers RAPM card with 4 games left in the season. I think this team has finally figured out their offensive game in the last 20% of the year, and I think if they can add a piece over the summer, this team can be really dangerous all of next year. Vibes are sky high.

How did Barkey still get that pass off.

Foerster was 100% scoring 40 goals this year.

Foerster stopping a break in then immediately feeding Zegras a rush, only for him to feed Foerster for a one timer is a sequence I really like to watch

This is a team that wants the playoffs so bad. Credit to Tocchet for the lineup and prepping them for this.

The era of first pair Risto has come to an end. The era of 1Drysdale has come.

Sanheim and Risto have cost them dearly this game. Horrible game from both of them.

Owen Tippett, once again, remembering he can just power through guys.

Martone seems like he’s having no issues with NHL pace or speed. Seems legitimately faster than Michkov this year.
