#NowPlaying The Haunted Youth - Boys Cry Too (2026) Having played the debut yesterday, have to play this today. Really good follow up, one of the best releases of the year so far for me.

#NowPlaying #5DebutAlbums9599 Death In Vegas - Dead Elvis An album loaded with atmosphere. The opening four tracks alone - grimy beats, distorted guitars, with a sense of menace. Nobody did this quite like them. Big contender for me.

#NowPlaying Magic Castles - Realised (2026) A very happy release day for the latest from one of my favourite bands. Absolutely loving it, they’ve knocked it out of the park again.

#NowPlaying #5DebutAlbums9094 Revelino - s/t One of the great Irish debuts of its time, don’t think it/they ever got the deserved recognition. Worth a listen for songs such as Happiness Is Mine, Don’t Lead Me Down, Tonight. In fact the whole album really!

Post a pic of the venue where you saw your first concert and the band or artist. U2, Croke Park, Dublin. 27th June 1987. It blew my tiny teenage mind, not just the gig but the fact I was allowed to go without parental supervision!

#NowPlaying #5DebutAlbums9094 The Frames - Another Love Song (1991) A great period for Irish debuts and this was the best of the lot for me. It’s raw and wears its heart on its sleeve, but full of great tunes and melodies. A big emotional attachment means it’s a definite contender for my five.

Just ordered “Murmurs”, the new album from supergroup Butler, Blake & Grant. Out next March. Includes some great TFC tracks and a cover of “Me & Magdalena”, one of my favourite songs of recent years. 😍

#NowPlaying #5DebutAlbums9094 Power of Dreams – Immigrants, Emigrants & Me (1990) Another great Irish debut. Adored this album back then, still do. They were young but seemed confident in what they were doing and were an electrifying live act. Loved the follow up too.
