Day 8 of #100DaysofCode. Continuing with python, I covered more basics : function parameters and arguments. Positional and key word arguments. Then built a Caesar Cypher.

Day 6 of #100DaysofCode continuing with Python. No boot.dev today (I did 1 exercise to keep my streak going) but I did 2 days of the 100 days syllabus. Today was Functions and While loops. Understanding blocks and indentation. Also did Day 7 and completed the Hangman game.

Sampled a different dev environment today. I actually quite liked it: Ghostty + Zellij + Helix + Yazi + Lazygit. All kitted in gruvbox dark with MonoLisa fronting the font face. Very fast setup, smooth as butter

Better Auth 1.1 is out, with a bunch of fixes. If, like me, you've been using the OTP plugin, it's interactions with the email & password credential setup now works for auto email on signup and auto sign-in on email verification.

@leerob.com one for your consideration for an educational vid in 2025: Using intercepting routes to create a login modal. The flow involved to redirect to landing if the modal is closed while directing elsewhere if login is successful. Been having issues getting it working for a bit now

I decided to learn Backend with boot.dev by @wagslane.bsky.social. Because I'm a masochist, I also took on a secondary course to speed things along - 100 days of code by Angela Yu.

#100DaysofCode Day 7: back on Boot.dev. Worked through the set and errors sections of Course 1: Python. The syntax is simpler than I expected. Realising conceptual similarities with the JS I know. Beginning to understand what people mean when they say it’s easier to learn a second language.

Devs, what is a typical stack you’d recommend to a learner that includes GoLang and why? Also, if you’d recommend any other stack, what would it be? (And why)

Issues I am facing as a learner dev: the courses and tutorials promote skipping the complicated stuff and going deep into frameworks and libraries that hide the detail behind magical abstractions. I’m not learning to write JavaScript at this point I’m learning to write Next React. #dev
