I made changes in how I use Cursor lately. One of them, when asking for large changes, is to follow up with "How confident (0-10) are you in making these changes?" It makes it reconsider/criticise its strategy & find flaws before even implementing 🔥 so you save time and get higher quality code

So grateful for this freedom too and the importance of listening to yourself and acting on it

More than 7 hours coding and working to try and wrap up a freelance project today, my 🧠 is fried I'm seeing things that I could have done better and it's making me start something new so I can put my new best practices in place from the start 😄

The indie community, despite being supportive and motivating and dynamic, is definitely just a bubble to me. Building products *not targeting* other indies, but instead larger and more mainstream circles (b2c or b2b) can be much more successful imo Take simple products like stagetimer for instance

@patricegorissen.bsky.social knows how to put words on real tough situations 🙌 I went through this a couple of years ago when working on my side project in my evenings + weekends while having a 9-5. I almost quit and wanted to drop everything at that point cause working on it felt like a chore.

I'm seeing ≠ approaches to Next.js caching. I'm using Supabase and want to cache most of my queries. Should I use `unstable_cache` with dynamic cache-keys (user-id if we query all records for a given user) and use revalidateTag whenever someone adds, updates or deletes something? is this the way?

I haven't been working on my own projects for a few weeks now so I don't have much to build in public or share work-wise 😄 The only thing I'm inspired to speak about is wellness and happiness tbh. Have you had your 7 hours of sleep? Did you go outside today and smell a flower?

I am all about going straight to the point in work settings (my previous boss and I used to huddle each other on Slack multiple x a day without notice & we made the most dynamic team) But I struggle awfully to work with people who never say hi/ thanks, send any updates, and take days to answer you🫠

Love working on weekends and holidays, no pressure of delivering, just a bonus feeling of making a little progress (Also spent time playing board games and eating chocolate, all good 🙂‍↔️)

I find that AI and Cursor, Cline etc are awesome when starting a project or brand new pages, but it struggles as the project grows and often goes in a loop of non-working changes Been wasting some time to end up resetting to the checkpoint and restoring all changes so often these last days 🥲

Probably did 85% or more of my new freelance project, in under three weeks, and the other 15 might take... unproportionally too long 🫠 I love doing the heavy-lifting of an app but I procrastinate so much when I have to finish the last details, fix little bugs that come up, tweak design etc 🫣

I don't think I could ever go back to a normal job and I'm so grateful for being able to make this decision. And for sure never in an office again, I hate routine wayyy too much for that 😄

Imo being a creator still puts you in a small minority, and consumers are still way more predominant Of course in our tech bubble it's easy to feel like everyone creates and no one seems to consume or want to consume, but I don't think it reflects reality so there's still a lot for us to create ✨

18 days later, I've sent the first version of it for feedback, with most of the features added, it's a multi-tenant management app with two different roles and was a first with supabase as well 🔥 and it's definitely been my fastest development of an app, even if a few things are still missing

I worked this am but felt quite lightheaded and dizzy, so I took it as a sign from my body to stay away from screens for the day, and I finally feel a bit better No matter how fast you think you should ship, how fast it looks like the race is going, don't forget to listen to your body, it knows

Two weeks ago I was ranting about RLS policies in supabase, as it took me 3 days to implement them... and I'm so glad I pushed through I now started to build the dashboard for non-admin users and all my queries are already returning the right stuff thanks to my policies, and it makes me way more

I'm opening the champagne when Safari get sunset. Discovered that our crm app has had a bug on one of our main features for >1 week. Users cannot submit their projects as the phone number input won't pass the required number to the form... only on Safari 🤯 Oh and their dev console is the worst ever

Finally, the biggest part of this feature was just merged! So happy and relieved to finally see some purple here, and I got to reach the 10k milestone before 🤖

Today was quite productive, workout this am, work, made sushis, enjoyed the sun ☀️, DIY on some old furniture that needed new paint, more sushis, work, rest The new app for my 2-week-old freelance project is getting along quite well, happy with the progress especially as the deadline is veryyy tight
