Big storm report- Giant tree branches were blocking both our cross streets. Chris and I went out and started trying to clear them and a bunch of randos came out of no where and started helping. No one really talked. Just cleared enough for a lane then left.

There are people in our society who feel comfortable lying and misleading people. They use expensive clothing to buy status and respect rather than intellect. They talk endlessly about nothing to fill space rather than being comfortable in silence.

I have been very quiet RE- The dismantling of the DOE. I'm a Sped Mom, there are millions of us. We aren't sure school will be safe for our kids next year. Life as we know it could drastically change. I don't know if I've ever been this stressed in my entire life.

Seeing lots of parents complain that their children are constantly sick this year. They wonder if the schools aren't getting cleaned? You can wipe down everything you want but if you aren't demanding clean air and masking at school then you are going to be sick all the time.

Access to new vaccines is still costly. The Biden administration gave up on communicating that masking helps prevent covid and hasn’t invested in HEPA filters that could have cleaned the air. This admin had every opportunity to prevent the spread of the ONGOING pandemic and squandered it.

With the closing of the DOE all special education funding in all 50 states will end. It is a 100% government funded program. Illinois law requires our schools follow FAPE by law. How are we going to balance this?
