While southern Europe is used to summer fires, this yearβs unusually dry/warm conditions from consecutive heatwaves are the main cause of the severe season. Bellow 2025 FWI anomalies, a key indicator of fire-prone climate conditions and fire hotspots, largely overlapping with the anomalies.
