What's the first thing you do in a new Unity 6 project? I disable the search index. Worst part of the editor, keeps my fan ramping up on every action. How? Window -> Search -> Search Index Manager -> Remove "Assets" element from the list on the left and tick "Disabled" in the "Options" foldout.

Unity turned things around with the waiver of the runtime fee and the promising Unity 6 upgrades. But I keep getting unjustified popups like "Your license has been revoked" or "You need an active license to use Unity." which feel like a threat! Seems to be related to switching between 2022.3 and 6.

I hoped to keep the player's gender completely irrelevant for my game, but last night I worked on fall handling and wanted to have screams and groans depending on the height. Couldn't find any convincingly neutral FX in my assets, so now I have a setting for a male or female voice. Any other ideas?

5y ago, with already 15y of exp as a full-stack SE and biz owner, I thought my income was safe. Then "screen-professions" fell to AI and the economy collapsed, too. Little reason to hire me, my team, OR the cheaper dev in low-cost countries. How to adapt? I think creator-mode is the only answer!?
