As we gear up for the #UNGA, I got to interview my boss - UN Secretary-General António Guterres on what he expects from world leaders here - in “our house”, at UN Headquarters in New York, next week.

There are simply no words left. Heartbreaking photos from our UNRWA colleagues in Gaza where conditions reached an unspeakable level of devastation with children paying the highest price. Starvation is widespread and people are dying. Parents are too hungry to care for their children.

#Gaza: Amid the ongoing Israeli aid blockade & bombardment, over 2.1 million people are being trapped, bombed & starved again. In a statement, #UnitedNations humanitarian leaders said, “we are witnessing acts of war in Gaza that show an utter disregard for human life.”

All entry points into Gaza are closed. At the border, food is rotting. Medicine is expiring. Vital medical equipment is stuck. If the basic principles of humanitarian law still count, the international community must act to uphold them.

Since 2 March, the World Food Programme couldn’t transport any food into #Gaza after Israel closed all border crossings for humanitarian & commercial supplies. UN agencies are appealing to resume aid delivery for families whose lives entirely depend on it.
