I drove down to Oregon this past weekend and stopped by Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. I was amazed at how tall the falls were. The bridge gives the scene scale, but standing below the falls is what really makes you feel its height. You have to look way up to see the top.

While I was at Lake Washington this week, one bright window caught the last light of sunset and sent a long sparkle across the water. It’s funny how there always seems to be one or two windows that light up like that when the angle is just right.

Drove over to Chinook Beach Park in Seattle this week to catch the sunrise over Lake Washington. I really enjoyed the contrast between the blue sky, the dark shoreline, and the golden path across the water. It felt peaceful and like a really good way to start the day.

I got out this morning while the lake was almost perfectly still. For a few minutes, the first color of the day spread across the horizon and reflected softly on the water. I really enjoyed the beautiful red hue in the sky and across the lake. It felt very peaceful, but also quietly dramatic.

While I was at Seahurst Park this week, the sun slipped under the cloud line just long enough to send a golden reflection across the water. I really enjoyed the glow around the clouds and the sparkle it created on the water. It was a beautiful moment to pause and take in.
