Every time I watch The Shining, I'm sadder and sadder about it's continuing relevance. So many in this country view themselves as caretakers and of a legacy that ultimately drives a wedge between them and their families and anyone they view as needing to be "corrected."

Replaying Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia for the 4th(?) time. It's just so damn good. Sure, it's a bit of a departure mechanically and the maps aren't super complex, but it's just pure fun, and I really love the characters. And that soundtrack is unbeatable!

Could make an absolute banger 2D movie with $10mil! I think that's what's really overlooked about going 2D these days!

Went to see the original TMNT movie in the theater today. Still such a perfect film! Noticed a couple notable names in the credits this time around: Sally Menke, Tarantino's longtime editor. And Shirley Walker, the composer for Batman the Animated Series!

I was singing "Genesis does! You can't do this on Nintendo" randomly and my kid goes, "What's that?" Me: so there used to be this thing called a Sega Genesis. It was like a Super Nintendo but shitty. I cracked myself up because those words came out of me with such venom and at such speed 🤣

My kid's homework essentially asked her to explain why the algebraic principle of the transitive property works. Not to apply it... To explain WHY IT WORKS. WHAT IS SHE? EUCLID OF ALEXANDRIA?!?? SHE'S EIGHT!!!!

I feel like this is how it goes w/most shows. I'm bummed to say that I actually love the hooky premise ones. EVERY TIME I see one I think "I love it. It'll be cancelled shortly."

Watching The Incredibles in the age of AI completely recontextualizes the film in the best way. I don't think this movie was ever intended as an objectivist screed, but as a call to arms for creative people!
