£1,000,000 gone. £1,000,000 missing. £1,000,000 that could have been used to fund staff, classroom resources, and help students thrive. Is it your school?

🫠 Leaks, overheating, mould… teachers in schools across the country are seeing the consequences of school funding cuts. The NEU surveyed members across England and the results are depressing – but maybe not surprising.

💔 This is what school cuts mean in reality: losing staff. 1,180 schools in England have lost more than £1M since 2010, in real terms. That’s equivalent to each school losing 7 teachers, 9 support staff, and 211 laptops.

😵💫 Educators are being asked to do the impossible. Without proper funding from the Government, planned reforms won’t work and pupils won’t get the SEND support they need.

Great to meet with headteachers from across Merseyside to talk about the reality of school budgets. Staffing pressures, rising pastoral needs, SEND costs are just some of the issues hitting classrooms hard. Our schools cannot keep absorbing these pressures alone.
