🐻 The Santa Monica Mountains have a new mama bear and her three cubs 🐻🐻🐻. It’s the first family of bears in these mountains in years. You may remember her remarkable 100-mile journey that began last year in the Angeles National Forest, wandering along the outskirts of LA before finding her new home.

In a move that threatens some of California’s most cherished wildlands, the Trump administration has revived plans to expand oil drilling and fracking across 850,000 acres throughout the Central Coast and Central Valley. Click here to view an interactive map of lands at stake and take action.

🐻 From 3lbs to 12lbs — this orphaned bear cub from Los Padres National Forest is thriving. He was found in poor health at Wheeler Gorge Campground north of Ojai in April, weak and dehydrated. Now? He’s quadrupled in size and is on the road to recovery, with hopes of one day returning to the wild.🐾

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum is reviewing national monuments across the country for downsizing or elimination. Many of California’s seventeen national monuments are vulnerable, including Carrizo Plain National Monument in San Luis Obispo and Kern counties.
