The controls were a little more floaty than I hoped but the game is a fun collectathon-puzzler with a silly premise.

I really liked Startropics. Pretty impressive given it was on a NES. That said modern features like rewind definitely made me feel better after silly deaths and traps

Ugh, Unbeatable feels too mixed for me. The music was great, artstyle is solid, the music-based gameplay is fun too but weird pacing with the story, weird platforming, and maybe TOO much visual flair during story--music gameplay made getting to the payoffs so uneven. Love the arcade mode though.

Beat Kirby Dream Land 2 and even got the rainbow drops. Some of these were surprisingly tricky to grab in terms of sequencing needed. Also would to consider the sequel came to Gameboy and not like NES or SNES

Played the Gunk on Steam Deck and had a fun time. Will say game had mild stutters when too much Gunk on the screen. Overall reminded me of like Ratchet & Clank meets Luigi's Mansion vacuum with more emphasis on platforming and mild puzzle solving.

Figured while I had NSO to try out some other games. Did some gems I never tried like Mappy-Land, Ninja JamJamMaru & Joy Mech Fight (pictured below) Wish Nintendo Switch Online put effort into translating Joy Mech Fight. Would've made knowing controls easier.

So the game definitely felt like it was meant to ocme out in the early 2000s. There were two fetch like quests required to progress story and the final boss felt kinda inconsequential the plot really. I am quite curious at the exact tale of how this game got developed as theres prob a story there.

Just finished the story of Expedition 33. I can fully see why it won GOTY. This game has some of the most fun turn based combat with creativity to break things. A fantastic story, a wonderful OST, and a world that inspired wonder. From the opening to the ending I stayed invested. Just wow.

Beat Rabi-Ribi, or at least the normal ending. Its a Metroidvania meets bullet hell type game. Definitely challenging if not prepared but can see why it got huge positive ratings on steam. Don't think I have it in me for true ending route tho

Beat Poco. Was a fun point and click with a unique art style and some amusing characters. Ended up getting the "good " ending by accident really.

Beat Prodigal! Was a neat Zelda-like with a GBC Sprite and Colour Palette and a little bit of life-sim elements. Apparently, there's some post game content that was added through patches so may give it a whirl assuming the puzzles aren't brutal

First game of the year beat! (To be fair was playing it before the year changed) Pretty fun game though a few minor camera/targeting quirks

No gif images found but beat "Minishoot Adventures" which felt like schmup meets zelda which was pretty fun all things considered. And then beat "Say No! More" which admittedly had a silly premise and fun art style but too simplistic controls and gameplay.

And beat Bioshock remastered. With that I've now played the Bioshock games amusingly on reverse order. Was a fun time and loved the locations and themes of each of them

I've heard horrid things about the PC and N64 versions but that the GBC is a nice "Zelda-like". I had fun with this version of it neat game but story felt lackluster.

I beat Nights: Into Dreams PC Port. I liked the artstyle and music but the gameplay didn't click with me. More of a time attack like game rather than a traditional platformer which sucks when you redo the entire level if fail a boss thats somewhat cryptic. That 7th level especially was tricky.

Got 3/4 endings in Forgotten City. I REALLY liked this little timeloop/deduction. Think it was one of my favourite games this year.

And finally after plugging back in the Wii U. Finally beat Metroid Prime 3. Was fun and (mostly) enjoyed the motion controls. Was maybe a 1-2 year gap since I played the first 2 as part of the Trilogy. Now I can (eventually) play Metroid Prime 4!

Solid year via steam. And plenty of games across other consoles

Beat dispatch and got a pretty heroic ending. Enjoyed my time with the game and honestly, I kinda wish there was even more dispatching as was fun playing them like little logic puzzles

Was happy to learn Elite Sniper Nazi Zombie Army 2 became verified. Sad to learn the game didn't quote mesh with me. Maybe it's meant to be played co-op as solo it was a slog fest

Really had a fun time with Killer Frequency. Felt very B-movie like but enjoyed the VA and story

Enjoyed my time with Alone in the Dark 2024. Enjoyable set pieces, decent visuals and pretty playable on Steam Deck

Played the remake version on switch. It was a lot shorter than I was expecting. Admittedly, I think I've played more of the sequel than the original as I didn't remember many of the set pieces

Had fun with Milk Outside a Bag of Milk. Was a neat sequel but with several endings each with interesting implications. Neat series for the price of under a lunch

And After getting the Joke ending and Ending 3 of Silent Hill F I think i'll shelve the other 2 endings for next year. I think I'm giving the game a 3.5/5. I like the story and some of the set pieces but the combat and re-treading the Dark Shrine world feels a bit cumbersome for me

And played Milk Inside a Bag of milk. Odd visual novel with eerieness and very short game. The Switch has it bundled with the sequel so will try the sequel soon! (After maybe a SH:f ng+ playthrough)

Beat Silent Hill F. Can't assign a rating to it yet as still kinda unsure on thoughts of it. Game feels like a departure from the series but still pretty neat. The combat is the biggest change and then theres a few smaller changers that don't hinder it, but make it seemingly feel not like the usual

Beat Lego Star Wars : Skywalker Saga (the 9 film story anyways) Fun tongue & cheek look at the 9 films. Gameplay wise, feel like its more centred on the Free-roam levels though as the story had me "build" less often than I expected. It also reminded me how the 9th movie had so many irksome question

Finally beat Midnight Club 2 after all these years. HOLY this game was way tougher than I remember, or Paris onwards the difficulty curve ranked up. Makes Need for Speed: Most Wanted feel like its for kiddies with the skill ceiling

Crystalis beat. Was a neat little game from its time. Had pros and cons definitely a 3.5/5 for me

Beat Super Mario Bros 3 for the first time. Game is more ambitious than I realized for a NES game, kinda crazy how Super Mario World on the SNES innovated afterwards

Enjoyed Kid Icarus Uprising for the first time. Fun story & even more fun dialogue with a great score and visuals. That being said the controls were so awkward and while it was fun to play I had to definitely play in bursts. I understand the hype for a remake as new controls would make it 5/5

Played the Mina the Hollower demo on Switch 2. Fun game of Zelda meets Dark Souls from the impressions I got. Looking forward to the release

Beat Echoes of Wisdom. Was a fun game and was nice to see a return to structured and themed dungeons. Apparently the ability to favourite echoes was a post patch thing but was a nice QoL change. Story was okay but the gameplay being a mid of 2d and 3d with some TOTK flair was neat

Gave Kpop Demon Hunters a chance on a whim and given people expressed it as "at worst its some kpop songs at best its a fun flick about kpop girls and demon boyz". Honestly, was pretty fun and better than i expected and the songs were indeed bops

Finally tried Mario Kart World's online mode. Here's some thoughts: Its not as sweaty/meta as I feared Knockout Rally is insanely fun and intense and that last 10 second stretch is the best panic with my highest placing being 5th so far standard races are good but even the intermission races don't-

Time to do my final route of Fire Emblem 3 Houses. Should be interesting seeing how the game performs on switch 2

Beat the original Half Life last night. I forgot how tricky old PC games used to be. Platformers in a shooter In 1998!? Maybe later this year or next year I'll play Half Life 2 and see how they changed it up
