I’m not sure if it is non-creative vs creative, but more that some people view everything as a commodity. “Why wouldn’t you want more of your monetisable output?!” I wouldn’t go so far to say that the process is the point (it is to some) but the process is definitely embedded in the work.

Met this little monster in Turkey today. I stopped to play for a bit which in puppy language means “I’m gonna bite you with my razor sharp teeth”. I made a poor decision because he then decided to change me down the street biting my ankles.

But just to play devils advocate with myself here, I think there is work for me to do too. I need to show (not tell) that there are alternative approaches. While i can’t influence large labs alone, i can demonstrate a path that prioritises agency, privacy, and consent.

I am blocked by over 1000 people on bluesky, mostly due to AI blocklists. I fully respect the right of anyone to curate their feed but I fear that this kind of blanket withdrawal from all AI discourse is counter productive.
