"Universal dose–response sensitivity of ecological processes to low levels of artificial light at night" by C. Schittko, et al. A remarkably interesting paper, providing a solid rationale for adopting maximum exposure limits to artif. light in nature restoration policies.

This is your periodic, friendly reminder that, to avoid harmful environmental effects, total artificial light emissions should not exceed ecologically safe limits... Nature doesn't care whether the light emitted is "useful" or "necessary" for humans.

And here is another significant contribution to the quantitative assessment of the environmental impacts of light: "Assessing and mapping taxon-specific effects of ecological light pollution for environmental impact analysis," by

Wind farms and light pollution: Medium-intensity turbine lights can be brighter than the brightest stars and planets on the night sky up to significant distances. This should be taken into account in environmental impact assessments. Version of record, open access:

Last week, we contributed to Mappe di Luce, a multidisciplinary event examining how natural & artificial light shape our environment. Elena Maggi co‑chaired scientific sessions, spotlightimg the urgent need to reduce light pollution’s impact on biodiversity
