I installed Omarchy on an old SSD. Runs fast, looks nice, and I can even play Overwatch on Linux nowadays. Times have changed for sure!

I taught myself The Coil from @amuristudio.bsky.social after their Kickstarter fulfilled super fast. What a clever game. You use your faction's dice to constantly one-up everyone else, aiming to claim cards from all players according to secret agendas. Very pretty too!

I picked up The Roottrees Are Dead in the current Steam sale. It's set in the 90s and you're trying to piece together a huge family tree, using a lot of very early internet sleuthing. I've been after some nice, weighted chips for a while now. I like Iron Clays, but they're a) expensive, and b) heavy to cart around. I found out about mini-chips.com and ordered some and they've just arrived. I'm over the moon. Small, satisfyingly weighty, just right ☺️

You definitely won't find this one in Waterstones. Chicken Trick doesn't even come in a box, but it's a clever three-player game that combines trick-taking and push your luck.

I'm a sucker for an Uwe Rosenberg game, and I've been waiting to try Kanal. One game in and I like it a lot. Glass Road didn't quite click for me, but Kanal keeps the same resource wheel of GR and Black Forest and opens the card/building market right up. Activating the buildings is clever too.
