When Trump entered office, the average tariff on European products was 1.5%. His new trade "deal" with the EU raises tariffs to 15%, passing that cost onto the American people. Bullying allies into paying tariffs only hurts Americans who will now pay more for everyday products.

Rumeysa Ozturk didn't commit a crime - she just expressed an opinion that Donald Trump doesn't agree with, and you don't have to agree with her words to be upset by that. Congress has oversight over ICE - the majority must take immediate action to investigate.

This is a breathtakingly reckless national security scandal, and it is one that Congress must urgently investigate. GOP leadership on HFAC must immediately convene a hearing to account for risking the lives of US personnel by conducting highly sensitive operational discussions by group chat.

Maybe the is why Trump's oligarchs say Americans wouldn't notice not getting their monthly social security check? Secretary Lutnick's mother-in-law might not notice, but I know the 204,536 Social Security recipients in the 9th Congressional District would.

I continue to be horrified that President Trump has cancelled a program that tracks thousands of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. Without this crucial database, Ukrainian children torn from their families face even greater obstacles in finding their way home.

Kitty Dukakis was a remarkable woman. Her courage in speaking in public about her personal struggles created hope and inspiration for countless individuals in need. Our Commonwealth was lucky to have her as our First Lady.

Today is Protect Public Media Day - as a strong supporter of PBS, I met with GBH CEO Susan Goldberg and New England Media CEO Matt Abramovitz last week in DC to discuss the critical role that public broadcasting stations and the CPB play in providing educational content to families across the US.

Today at a Foreign Affairs Committee briefing on USAID I asked Trump's head of USAID Pete Marocco, as the overseer of democracy and free elections programming globally, whether he was at the Capitol on January 6th. He refused to say no.

I wanted to check in briefly before tonight's joint session of Congress:

Illegally withholding Congressionally appropriated aid to Ukraine is a gift to Putin. It undermines our allies and enables leaders like Xi in China. Simply put, it is wrong. GOP members must join in condemning this appeasement of Putin and abandonment of our allies. Their silence is complicity.

Thanks to Rev. Nell Fields for organizing a rally in support of Ukraine in Falmouth today. Hundreds lined the streets in support, and I shared my message in support of Ukraine, our allies, and our American values.

When I visited with Ukrainian border guards on my way to meet with President Zelenskyy last spring I was asked to leave a note for Ukrainian soldiers. My message is as true today as it was last April: Ukraine is on the front line of freedom - not just for Ukraine, but for the entire free world.

If J.D. Vance had ever taken the time to visit Ukraine, he'd know the very first thing President Zelenskyy says when you arrive is THANK YOU. Here we are last spring celebrating the broad, bipartisan support that existed for Ukraine in Congress when 73% voted in favor of standing with our ally.
