Some days I love my job. I love my kids and my clinical team. But some days I hate my job. Like seriously hate it, therapy is not seen as a priority and some staff (and foster parents) treat me like a glorified babysitter. Rage!!!

Got my first “you are evil, your organization steals kids for trafficking for sex and money” parent.

Tonight and this weekend definitely need to be self-care time. Maybe some shopping.

I did, sadly, get my first case with a really fucked up situation involving possible sex trafficking of minors. It's all allegations, but idk, when a kid tries to commit suicide over something like that, there's definitely something really wrong there.

That said, I've seen some pretty horrific cases. Kiddo in the system who had a fractured skull at 1 month old (much older now). Lots of cases of neglect, lots of dads in jail, lots of domestic violence, a lot of drugs. It's sometimes very tiring and hard.

One of the things about my job I'm noticing is the ups and down can be extreme at time. Bad days happen, good days happen, though the good days outshine the bad. The key seems to be not to get discouraged, have patience, know when to not care (and this is more for birth parents and foster parents)

Man, sometimes these foster parents piss me off. Honey, we are paying your ass to take care of these kids and it’s YOUR job to get them to therapy. And stop being so damn rude. I’m trying to help these kids.

Very tired. MCR was wonderful, but playing catch up at work (and energy) has me feeling frustrated and low. I know it will pass, but it is definitely tough. Current events don't help, it feels soul sucking...

$165 for a new passport- That's A LOT of money for some people. Not to mention it doesn't take into account passport photos, any documentation you don't have and have to pay for (for example, if you don't have your birth certificate, that can cost between $10 and $35 depending on State)

Job offered. Rescinded my acceptance of the first job, and accepted the new job. It feels...really good to have made this decision. The new place made me feel like I was really wanted and had a place. I'm really excited for this next road in my life.
